Kind of stupid when you think about realistically. I know it’s a video game but imagine in real life somebody is swinging a 10 foot long sword at you and your first thought is to roll right at it? Thats why I think people forget to do that because it’s so unnatural lmao.

@@MVTVM Your instinct is to roll away from danger. They design bosses to punish spam rolling backwards. For example, Goresh kept dodging backwards when Messmer throws that arc of fire. It hit him every single time. Just like Mohg’s blood, you dodge INTO it. Especially with this bosses long spear, staying up close and dodging into him can actually make his spear miss you. Dodging backwards will get you roll caught by the tip of the spear.

Not really. Marika sent Messmer to conquer the shadow lands which resulted in a bloody war as him and his men wiped out just about everybody. Yeah he's got mommy issues but in reality, he's not a good person seeking peace lmao

@@korbbles4725leda herself literally comments on the genocide itself saying that the hornset weren’t saints, they just happened to be on the losing side of a war, they were horrible people who persecuted marika’s people and she sent messmer into war as revenged to what they did to her people and messmer did all of this just because his mother told him to do it. Everyone in messmer’s army is constantly asking how long this war is going to last even though the hornsent have been utterly destroyed and are starting to believe marika has abandoned them all in this pointless war that should of ended ages ago

@@nes8779messmer wasnt sent to conquer the land, marika feared the base serpent which was inside messmer and sent him away to the shadow land in order to keep him away and seek revenge for what the hornsent did to her people. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Nothing about this was messmer’s idea and we are told he did all of this because his mother wanted it and saw it as his only purpose of living. He even curses Marika when he dies meaning he didn’t want to do any of this.

This. People dont want to learn the boss or something, i saw many people saying hes unfair but hes really fun and punishable once you get his moveset

I had the same experience, messmer took me 15 tries and i even almost first tried him. Malenia however took me like 200. But i think its also cuz ive just generally gotten better at souls since malenia

Yeah this. I noticed that so many people just refuse to "learn" the boss and will just try to brute force everything and say "oMg tHIs BOss iS sO UnfAIr" basically everytime they die. Like yeah, some bosses truly do have some BS moves but those are a few and far between, majority of the times it's just the player being kinda bad at the game.

The thing is Goresh took a shitty build just so he can make the game tougher for him. That shows elite level wisdom😂

@@yokumob Don't get me wrong, Messmer is the best boss in the game for me and I consider Malenia the most overrated boss. That being said you can destroy Malenia more easily than messmer but she still has waterfowl that can take u out easily while Messmer doesn't have a bs attack

Doesn't have a bs attack, the best soundtrack in the game, lore wise he is goated, he's good designed and visually he is top 3 at worst. By far the best boss in the game.

​@@luketheduke910 The snake's attacks are actually quite similar to the tree spirits and they have MASSIVE punish windows. It makes the second phase arguably easier than the first.

Goresh didn't have like any scadu fragments going into this fight. Was also pre-patch, so the few he did have weren't super impactful at the time. You got this!

Yea, Elden Ring really hates heavy builds lol, colossal weapons are actually broken but having a heavy armor kills you. Back when Havel was a broken strat makes this situation funny

​@@yokumobTrue. I have seen Noahj456 beat the last bosses without armor and when he was taking hits, the boss wasn't doing that much damage compared to how much damage Goresh did WITH armor. Armor in this game is mostly for fashion and poise if you ask me at least in the DLC.

I mean ER is the easiest FS game so probably lol. But you can definitely beat Messmer with this build, Goresh just can’t roll or attack properly
