Merry Christmas to you and your family. I am trying to help my mom declutter her home and it has been an undertaking . My Dad passed away from cancer this past August 16 and I want to help her by organizing and decluttering. My grandmother (her mom) passed over 20 years ago and has hung onto a lot of her things too. Pray for me as I try to help her find peace in an organized space. We have a long way to go, but you inspire me. God bless you.

Hi Michelle - I’m so thrilled to hear your party turned out so good. I’m so proud of you for sticking to your guns and not over stressing yourself. I’m doing pretty good on my preparations as well. I have gotten Christmas down to a fine art over the years. We basically have the same menu every year so I have a pre-printed grocery list that I start buying groceries a little by little in November and I have a timeline on what needs to be baked and when and I just follow that every year. What I have to do tomorrow is get the cakes out of the freezer and frost them and bake a pie. I also need to boil potatoes and eggs to make a potato salad the next day. Every Christmas we have fried shrimp, potato salad, scallop squash, baked beans, Hot rolls, fudge, pie, Italian cream cake, pumpkin bread and sausage balls. Melissa and Brian will arrive on Saturday and we will all go to Rebecca‘s for dinner that night. Christmas Day we will all go to church and come home and fry shrimp. Everything else will already be made and just need to be heated up. That’s such a sweet memory for your grandchildren to remember going with you to deliver cookies to the neighbors. Rachel and I did that very frequently through the years. We would bake pumpkin bread or cookies or something and take to shut ins in the church. I wanted her to have that memory of us serving others together. What I do with my cast iron skillet is I’ll actually have a big kitty litter pan that I put them in under my cabinet then I can just slide that whole pan out without it scuffing up my cabinets. Yes, I do make resolutions out. I usually make out some for financial, some for spiritual, some for health and maybe whatever else I feel necessary. I also choose a word every year and if you will remember my one from last year was vitality. I was feeling so horrible last year and I had no stamina and could not even walk from my Sunday school class to the sanctuary. I’m happy to say that I feel great this year and I’m able to do anything that I want to do. Some things I do have to have help with. Rachel came over and helped me yesterday move my plants into the garage from the deck and bring some additional firewood in for this freeze we’re getting. I can’t even think of a word right now because I have to get up at 3 am in the morning to catch my plane for New Orleans at 7:00 am and am stressing seriously about traffic and getting there in time! 😫. I folded towels while I watched your video. One question though: How do you keep your grands safe from the dishwasher pods? I have kept mine up high ever since I had babies.
