Hard to trust a review from a person that seems to have only had the headset for 10 minutes. Double tap the side of the headset to switch between mixed reality and full vr. I'm not sure how you don't know this. If you've "used" this device, have you not gone through the settings? The option to switch off the tap the headset function is in there.

For those still wondering what the perfect combo is for your meta quest 3, go for the Destek strap (has no battery) and the ZyberVR around the neck battery. The destek is the most comfortable strap out there with a very big cushion for the back of your head and rear + over the head strap adjustments (to keep you at the sweetspot of your display) The around the neck battery is something you forget about within a minute and its just so nice to not have that extra weight from the battery on the top of your head!!

you only touched the surface. this one has lots of straps and you can get an external battery. also you can activate the battery saving mode to make it last way longer.

Get the Bobo VR S3 PRO strap... will make you love VR a LOT more...

Actually just got mine a week ago--it's a solid upgrade over the Quest 2 in clarity and other usability features (better low-light tracking is a big one for me), but you definitely need to budget for a comfort strap and some other accessories. I went with the Kiwi design SPC battery strap + charging stand this time around, and so far so good. Also, Meta should absolutely not be charging $40 for their silicone interface. 😡

There are solid gaming experiences, and immersive content..., this review describes the VR scene from 5 years ago..., right now it just sounds outdated, but I understand, I had to be introduced to many things (confort straps, sideload, web-vr, top games out of store recommendations, etc.), it is kind of hard because not al lot of content is concentrated in few sources, and exploring them is still a task...

My recommendation. Get a better head strap. Honestly just having a Bobovr m3 or the new one that they just came out with will fix a lot of your issues. The headset feels a lot more comfortable for longer play sessions, it doesn't press against your face or leave marks and it gets better battery life as well. I still find myself doing an average of about 2, 2 and a half hour sessions but I can also go 4-5 hours if I want to like getting really into a game and wanting to experience more of it. To be fair, I think it's also kinda scummy that meta sells this thing without a useable headstrap. I mean they know that people don't like the thing, that's why they offer the elite strap. So I can't blame you for not knowing it. This will be ultimately the common experience for most users who just get into VR for the first time and it's a huge disservice.

You’re right. Definitely is the future. You reminded me of “Young Justice” season 3. They wear these contact lenses that basically does what the Quest does and so much more.

I am gaming 2/3 hours a night right now with PCVR wifi stream gaming. I had a few hickups setting it up, but so far I am hooked. Some exclusive quest games and the subscriptions are pretty cool too. Apart from gaming.. I agree, won't use it like that. The camera's honestly suck, way to grainy in dark areas.

let me write down my frustrating experience. I bought my first Quest 3 a few days ago. After Reverb G2, I instantly fell in love with the edge to edge clarity. Sound is average, the comfort is so so but I changed the face interface with AMVR and it works just fine. No glare, no stutter and works just fine with flight sims. However I notice a dead pixel so went to Mediamarkt to replace it. the 2nd headset had no dead pixels but oh my god it is like a different model. There is way too much glare, the fan is so noisy and it stutters a lot. So today I went to Mediamarkt again to replace it. Tomorrow I am going to pick up the 3rd one. Hope 3rd time is the charm. Long story short having a decent, solid Quest 3 is like winning a lottery. So many issues. If you buy one of them don't let the customer service to convince you that the glare is reasonable. It is NOT as I know from the first Quest 3 Headset!

You seem like you read or and research a lot, I mean that as a compliment. I like your reviews. You should be a college professor, because you explain things very well to understand. This is my first VR headset and last. I bought this product around the time it was release, along with the accessories for the device, but I haven’t open it yet, but I will soon. Bro comfort with this is solely dependent on you putting in the money for a nice headstrap preferably battery headstrap and nice facial interface. Buy those accessories and almost all your issues are gone

They should advertise it better(for sims/racing/flying), I used mine ALOT for table tennis, and after 500 hours og simming you can go play beat saber, see a movie, and in mixed reality so you are able to see the world at the same time. Very flexible, but you wont notice these things in a couple of weeks.

You don’t mention the experience when watching a movie, Bigscreen is pretty awesome! You feel like you’re in a theater. To me, that makes this 100% worth it. But, you do have good points about serious gamers, they may be left underwhelmed.

Good night there are some idiots commenting here. He wasn't telling to buy it or not buy it, he was giving his first impressions. And he's absolutely right, this isn't a good experience for gaming. It's impressive at first and then monotonous. Sounds like some of these people bought it and are stuck with it and get upset when someone offers their opinion on it's downside. You aren't forced to watch reviews if you don't like hearing honest opinions.

i think this is a good review, but as a person who does vr game the quest 3 is so much better than the 2 and even a lot of the current competitors. the problems you are talking about are more of a person wanting this for work or for everyday tasks. which you def can do but that’s not what it was really made for yanno, opposed to the vision pro which is more suited towards that lifestyle…the quest is definitely more of a stay at home and gaming device. it doesn’t seem like youre getting the most out of your quest

I have a psvr2 and just ordered one of these primarily for games like beat saber. Psvr2 isn’t great for beat saber, cable is always in the way and I constantly have issues with the earphones not working.

I would buy quest 3 if they have Morrowind inside I played doom 3 on quest 2 and it was great experience I would play Cyberpunk if it is on Quest also (Totally Possible on Meta Quest 10)

I am extremely disappointed in the choices of things I have in this headset. Meta Quest has gone overboard in its restriction of things to with this thing. The headset has so much potential. But Meta has not enabled any outside vendors (like anatomy studies in VR or Astronomy). All I see is just nothing but play games and shooter simulations. I do enjoy the immersive tours of cities around the world but even these are restricted. I am a 75 yr old disabled man who does not get out of a stationary position to go much further than around my domicile (house).

I'm all for mixed reality, but putting AR above VR boggles my mind. Has anyone ever used good PC VR? PC VR is so much better than 2D gaming, I honestly don't know what anyone is thinking when they say VR isn't the future. It makes me think people play a few crappy Quest games and quit.

Meta will be the "Android" of augmented reality, Apple will be, well the Apple of AR (or Spatial Computing with Apple Vision Pro). Apple is already 100% where you are proposing Meta goes to - beyond gaming/entertainment. they will perfect light glasses - and Apple has the funds to leapfrog Meta (which they already have). interesting times ahead - options are great!
