There's no difference in vacuum power or volume flow between these L, M and H class Metabo extractors. The only differences in specification is the M and H do not have any control to vary the suction (whereas the L class does); the M and H have both a warning light and sound which get triggered if volume flow falls below a safe level (the L has the light only); the L and M have M class filters fitted, and the H has H class Hepa filters. If your working on construction sites with Heath and Safety inspections (depending on your country's regs) you may have to have the M or H machines - if you're not, save your money and buy the L class then swap out the filters for the Hepa ones. This gives the added advantage of being able to control the suction, which helps in certain applications.

@@okafka5446 Don't agree with some of this. H class does not stand for Hepa filter. The regulations simply state that the filtration in a H class vacuum must be capable of stopping a certain size of particle. This may well be a Hepa filter. The H must also have a certain level of suction and something that tells you if that drops off I agree. The regulations also clearly state that you can not upgrade an L or M class vacuum to an H by adding better filters so in that I will have to disagree.

You're absolutely right about regulations, as I said when working on sites where health and safety regs apply. However you were incorrect stating there is any difference in suction power between the 3 classes, just take a look at the specifications it's clearly stated. Simply put if like me you Don't work on construction sites AND you want to have variable suction, there's no qualitative difference between the performance of an L class (in my case Starmix) extractor fitted with Hepa filters and an H class extractor. Think about what's doing the work - the filter, and think about the fact that all three of the Metabo extractors L M and H are EXACTLY the same apart from the differences I highlighted earlier - there are no more secure gaskets or other engineered differences in the H or the M classes that make them more efficient at doing their job than the L class. The ONLY reason to buy into the H class is, if you have to because of site regulations, otherwise you're wasting your money. P.S. you might want to take a look at the specification for Starmix's iPulse H 1235 Asbest Safe plus and have a think about why that model has reduced power/suction and airflow - by your way of thinking that would be puzzling, no?

no. the outlet rating of the auto start plug is ~1000W. This grinder at 1900W draws far too much power.
