I appreciate the procedure you've designed to check blade adjustment. Most consumer horizontal bandsaws are crude devices. In practice, I've found that they will maintain a setting for a very short period of time before they are cutting with errors exceeding .030" per 3 inches of vertical cut. That might be fine for some things, but for everything else, a portable grinding jig or belt sanding jig will be needed. Keeping the saw within reasonable adjustment simply reduces - almost never eliminates - the final grinding or sanding step.
