The Impact is a very good machine. I found a GW button with it and a huge 22k gold ring. I always would just run it in deep mode. I tried 99 tones a couple of times but the 99 different tones blaring at you drove me nuts. I would also keep the small coil on the extra shaft so that when I wanted to switch from the large coil to the smaller coil, I would not need to mess with that plastic retaining bolt for the coil. Just unplug the coil cable undo the lower shaft clip; slide off the lower shaft with the coil and then just reverse the process to install the other. I would only be down a few minutes and did not need to worry about breaking that plastic bolt or accidentally snapping off one of the coil ears. Very nice review John.

I will never use 99 tones on any machine, drives me nuts as well. Especially in my ultra trashy parks. I will likely run DI2-3-4 95% of the time. Thanks for watching and commenting Mark!

Internal cable routing is the bomb... faster and cleaner coil/shaft changes, rather than the traditional wrapping.

Yet another great video from THGT review vault, this time covering an iconic machine from the Nokta Makro stable. A great combo; THGT and Nokta Makro; both hard-hitting, robust, and comprehensively efficient 'stand alone' entities in their own right. I'm glad that these reviews are the very best that there are, because I enjoy 'stand -alone' things that can 'do the hard-yards', take the hard knocks, and endure where lesser fold. Bring on the NM CMF: that'll set the fitch amongst the fowls, as well as define the hitherto 'hard-core' brand loyalists, from the 'ship-jumpers' out there! Never jump ship if the vessel you're on is durable, efficient, reliable, and can cover your butt in 'dark waters' ! Take it easy John. ATVB to you and youR family.

Congratulations on the success of your channel. I'm a Colorado boy too, and am currently living in Denver. You inspired me to start my own channel n am going to post some videos of my own soon as well. I love the hobby man! I try to go literally every chance I get and went twice today n jst got home. Now it's time to put on KZfaq n watch detector videos. I was born to do this stuff.

Thank you. I am currently back in California where I was born and raised. Spent 2000 to 2018 in Colorado. Some very good spots to detect out there. Best of luck with the channel - never give up.

@@thehuntergt Dang, I thought u were from CO, u were here for awhile. Ya, I've found lots of stuff here at the parks. Seems like a few of them no one has been to in the north metro area. I literally am finding coin after coin after relic. N thank you, I hope I'm successful!

You know there not advertised for it per say but I’ve seen the makro racer 2 in action recovering raw gold nuggets (small ones) in the feild and now from your testing with your gold pieces it looks like the impact would fall right in line as a very practical gold prospector they did a really good job with the true static all metal modes on these machines

Yeah they killed off the Racer 2 for whatever reason. I felt it was still a viable detector. I should have clarified in the video I would not use this for gold only because I have 3X gold detectors in my inventory from NoktaMakro - not because it does not work for small gold.

Thanks for the video. I've been out of detecting for years. I have been thinking of taking it back up. I am trying to catch up to the new technology and these multi frequency machines. So, is multi freq the way to go now? Is single obsolete? Or does single have an advantage? I've owned a White MXT, AT-Pro, and Tecknetics T2 in past.

This seems like a winner for sure! Seems from what I've been seeing this goes deeper than Kruzer and Anfibio on deep coinage. Is this one a sleeper or what? Just wonder how it performs in urban settings. Was thinking about the f75 ltd or this one. This Impact is 3 detectors in one,its more affordable than f75ltd,,what are you're thoughts,,been trying to figure out which can handle EMI better in controller settings, and that's the one I'll go for. And I'll purchase it from you early January. Can I have you're link and discount code with it?

Hi Mark. I love it so far. It has landed me silver on almost every trip out. I prefer it over the Anfibio which was near top of my list. It does NOT handle EMI as well as a F75 LTD that has DST on it. However, I have not had a moment where I had to switch spots yet like I have with Anfibio. Tough question to answer. Depending on my mood...the Teknetics T2 LTD or the NoktaMakro Anfibio.

@@thehuntergt Man those are the 2 I've been looking at. I got me a BH gold digger, BH sharpshooter ultramag, garrett AT Max, and the minelab vanquish 540. That vanquish is a beast. To me it's very accurate.

So I've seen videos where it absolutely cannot pick up a few different coins (Canadian and modern UK iron core coins). I mean NO signal. I hunt in areas with old iron based coins in Japan, and I;m worried it might miss these...any thoughts?

I am not sure to be honest. I have not personally heard or seen of that issue and don't have any test coins like that to try. Perhaps it was a setting or user error - as it picks up small bits of iron smaller than a coin with no trouble at all.
