Cheers Andrew, I will always say it how it is. The Simlex is a great machine for the money. I'm really happy that I bought this one, its been in a river a couple of times and the sea. I've just got hold of a Garrett Ace Apex so there will be a similar video on Wednesday night 😁🍺

Cheers mate, yes I'm enjoying it more again mate. This video was filmed before christmas and I was just losing my way a little with it as it was becoming a bit of a chore rather than a hobby. When you start detecting more than once or twice a week it becomes a bit too much for me tbh. Cheers for watching and leaving feedback mate

Wow bud you did just as well with the Simplex as you do with the ORX. Nice interesting hunt, lots of sweet finds.... So frustrating not knowing what some of the lead items are or were used for! It's a cool feeling when someone gets chuffed with a find (farmers wife) even somewhat more than a detectorist as we get complacent with the epic finds (as time goes on we expect more and more 🤣). 👍👍👍

Yes the Simplex is as capable as the ORX for sure. I got rewarded for donating the Victoria shilling to the landowners wife. You will see in my very next video that I am currently editing 😁

Great to see an in no one's pocket review of the simplex warts and all .it certainly gives a positive response and has a respectable depth too .as you say you have to learn them all .great piece of history that counterstamped coin .am sure I used to go out with that pig .

It wasn't a review video it was just me fancying a change. I've had this machine for a year now amd felt it needs more use. For the money it is a fantastic machine but my ORX will always be my go to machine. That token was cool, never found a stamped one before

I know that ,just good to see an impartial view .Reckon it's a good un.looks very light and easy to use .point 2 I,m the same with my adventis 2 I just don't dig much iron with it only the usual round iron rings .sometimes I dig up iron just to see what's there as well .that has occasionally over the years made the trip interesting .

A most enjoyable video, cracking first find and loved that coin spill. Seemed like the Simplex did a decent job. I’m taking mine out tomorrow to a new permission, my brother is using his new ORX so it’s gonna be a bit of a battle! Haven’t been out for a while, wasn’t enjoying my detecting as much either but really can’t wait to get out tomorrow. Cracking video as always mate, great to see your channel taking off. Yes we are very blessed with the rich history of England, it fascinates me when I think about what has happened here over the last few thousand years. We are time travelers and it is the best hobby in the world 😁

Good to see the simplex making an outing. They take some getting used to but are the ultimate iron finder! I still love mine and keep getting some decent stuff come up. Love that workhouse penny, shame it can't be identified to a location. Keep safe, cheers.....

I was gonna go detecting for 2 hours in-between some dog walks, even my wife was encouraging me to go , but I've stayed in and done the ironing while watching some of your videos on the t.v. I've got 2 more 1 hour dog walks yet today, which will both be in the rain, so wanted a break from it.

Top vid as usual, I'm thinking the reason for so many bust buckles in the fields is down to the size of those coins ha imagine the weight of a pocket full of pennies 😀

Looks like you're in Park 2, that's the least depth but best recovery, Field mode is the best depth 👍

Hi Niles haha. As veey much a lone wolf detectorist I never wear headphones. I don't really have a problem using them, but when I'm out in the wilderness alone I like to be able to hear what is going on in my surrounding - tweeting birds, church bells in the distance etc. All part of the hobby for me. Of course if I was on a group dig I would wear them. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😁🍺

Hi John ye was a good hunt that. The finds back I bought from ebay. If you search for metal detecting finds pouch and have a scroll you will see theres hundreds on there. Paid about £18 delivered

Thoroughly enjoyable video. I have a question though, do I see that coil flopping around on the end of that shaft? Or is it an optical illusion?

Hi Barry, thanks very much for the warm comments and for taking the time to watch this old video of mine. Yes I believe I was using the XP ORX with the 13 inch coil. This is the lightest metal detector in the world, so adding a big coil does make it very bottom heavy. But man I had some amazing joy and success with this machine and coil. I now use the XP Deus 2 primarily with the 11 inch coil. I believe 11 inch is the perfect size and perfect balance. Hi going back looking at this video what of todays maxhines would you buy instead of simplex Possibly nokta other model or would nox 600 be better ,deus2 is lots money but could recoup price wiyh more gold stuff 🤔

Hi there, thanks very much for going back and checking out this older video of mine. The Simplex for the money is a pretty good machine. But yes a Nokta Legend or Minelab Equinox are a step up. I have been using the XP Deus2 for the last 2 years and it is an incredible machine, perhaps the best on the market. Thanks again for watching, hope to see you again. Gareth

Morning Gareth , you've put me in a bit of a dilema !! I love watching your videos and was at the point of upgrading my Simplex to an Orx , can I have your honest feedback as to which you prefer

Hi Nick, I will always say I prefer the ORX as I have 2 long years of experience with it. I have only used the Simplex a handfull of times. The ORX is lighter and the tones are much nicer. But the Simplex can go underwater, great for river detecting. I like both machines but ORX is my go to, Simplex backup

Hi mate, I got mine from a chap called Ash, his KZfaq channel is called The Southern Searcher. If you look him up and drop him a message he might help. I think he stopped doing them a while back though. You might be able to find some on ebay. Hope this helps 😁

Thanks Scott, I have owned the Simplex for about a year but I don't use it very often. Its featured in my river videos last summer. Decent machine! Will be using an APEX on Monday 😁

I bought this machine off a lady at work. Apparantly her husband watches my channel and decided to buy a machine. He went once then that was that 🤣 Sold it to me with a spade and pinpointer for £230

Great video as always. Just one thing I got to ask on your video when your swinging the simplex the bottom stem looks really loose. Is it? Or just the camera ? Cheers 🍻

Cheerd Jonathon. Yeah I know what you mean, I have the stem almost fully extended and it makes it feel like a flippin fishing rod. Its not very rigid at all. Have I got it setup wrong?

@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire Dont know about the set up but I've seen it on a few videos now where the bottom seems really floppy. Think it's a great machine for the money but just it being floppy has put me off !!

@@Liam_Dennett_GMDC yes, this is why I decided to make that video, but man it was so tough to film and edit, I had like 60 minutes of footage that needed reducing to 20. Was a tad messy and ended up with a couple of black screen errors near end. But overall I was happy with the final outcome

Hi mate, I would yeah, especially on a beach!! I have had a go with a Vanquish before, they perform well but to me feel very platic and the fact they take AA batteries is a massive put off for me in this day n age of so called modern technology. I would go straight for the Equinox over a Vanquish all day and all night. Never owned a Minelab though, always been Garrett & XP man

@@tractorboyyy2592 theres a lot to be said about different machines, different brands. You can have huge success with any machine with a great permission. The hardest part of metal detecting is the never ending pursuit of aquiring really good permissions especially for soneone like me who only detects pasture

It is good to change mate, I know its hard not to choose your favourite machine. This permission along with a lit of my permission are stuffed full of coins, I just did not walk over these targets yet. You have to work over it to find it. Take care mate 🍺
