“gunther” omg what a fucking pull 😂😂. I’ve only heard, i think it was called “Ding Dong Song”. My friend showed it to me in like 5th grade? And it was ridiculous but holy shit that chorus/post-chorus was so absurdly catchy.

Günther ... I had totally forgotten that character! Oddly no-one mentions Ibiza. The part around 4:12 sounds *sooo* much like pretty much all of the Mediterranean party scene stuff from the 1990s. Also, the eye-candy gal has a classic black metal Bathomet goat head painted (or tattooed) on her stomach. Metal! Took me quite a while to stop it. I may have been distracted :P

The stereotype they're playing on with the mullet, mustache and sports clothes (maybe even in neon colours) is the one of the 80s and 90s "Mantafahrer"/Ruhr area citizen with low educational background. (They're from the Ruhr area themselves, by the way, and it's still local slang to refer to "Currywurst & French fries with Mayo" as "Mantaplatte", for instance. This stuff has become part of our regional culture, more or less. :-p) The English Wiki is unfortunately very sparse, so for more information you can run a translator over the German article. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manta_joke The comedy TV show and movie "New Kids" from the Netherlands also make fun of that stereotype pretty neatly. :-p The music itself is playing on EDM (in particular the band "Scooter" and its songs "Hyper Hyper" and "Maria" from the 90s and early 2000s) and the clear vocal singing section is a satire on the typical boygroup of the same era. The shallow lyrics also go into that direction. And of course they don't take themselves and metal very serious either. Then some vaporwave thrown in there, whereby vaporwave in itself is already about the 70s to early 2000s, and you basically got the entire video. ;-)

There is a very slim zone when you make cringe on purpose where IF done right it somehow ISNT cringy. These guys absolutely nails that. Its just enough over the top and so obviously done on purpose that it becomes a strange kind of cool instead. Like a frat party gone absolutely haywire but everyone is just having a blast so no one gives a F. It doesnt matter what song you put on by this band, it always makes me feel like Im on fakking coke and wanna run through a brick wall just because, its so god damn high energy and absolutely anything goes. I love it all to death... literally, this shit will be playing on my funeral xD
