The perfect anti-villain. Even Snake in MGS4 admits Solidus was right about everything. Makes you wonder had Solidus gone about it another way if he may have actually succeeded and been seen in the light he wanted to be in.

Somehow only Sunny was the only one actually capable of destroying the AI and Raiden dying would've led to her dying as well. Solidus would've been left with bogus information as his only lead and it would've all been for nothing.

Snake I always thought of it like this, big boss is a legend but since he was part of the CIA only people in the intelligence community really knew that legend or what he looked like. Solidus always felt like a better opponent than Liquid. He felt in control throughout the events of Big Shell, never losing his cool, unlike Liquid. And yet Liquid's the favorite, for some reason.

+Marchof31Days He's likely the favorite because of the game he's in. I actually prefer Solidus myself, but MGS1 is legendary to fans for being...well, the first MGS and starting all the awesomeness. MGS2's fantabulous in my opinion, but it's a mixed bag with fans for taking snake away and replacing him with some nerd by comparison. That soured the entire game up for some.

This track appears on the second Soundtrack Album for the game "The Other Side" and all the music on that Disc is done by Norihiko Hibino. He also came back and done extra tracks for Substance such as the VR Training stuff, etc. Williams only done around 40% of the score, which was mainly cutscene work and grand events in the game, Hibino is the guy responsible for the gameplay side, from the jazzy sound of the Struts on the Plant to boss themes such as Yell Dead Cell and Father & Son.

Hibino is terribly underrated. Never understood the hype for Harry Williams. I dont remember his scores. I do remember the badass in-game music by Hibino tho.

+Yamato Hotsuin Considering how crazy Metal Gear can get with its conspiracy theories, if they really wanted to do they could say he originally wasn't brain dead but with a messed up body he had his mind maped to a computer and now has a human size metal gear as a robot body. Serously we've got a 4th wall braking man with esp, a terrorist named Vamp who is constantly implied to be a vampire, and a ghost who use the souls of the people you killed as wepions agenst you it really isn't hard to bring someone back from the dead in this series.

Liquid, although was a bit of a mustache twirling villain, was also led to believe that he was the lesser clone with the recessive genes from Big Boss so he had that complex that he had to prove himself. Which he did many times over. But his will to prove himself worthy and surpass Big Boss blinded him to his reality. I think Ocelot had a lot to do with manipulating him too, as Liquid ended up being just another pawn in the long run. I guess his genes and perception detached him from his own humanity, where Solid found reasons to fight beyond just simply being the best at what he does.

That rear backstep counterattack Raiden ends the fight with fits so perfectly into the ending of the track. Fucking audio-action synergy on a conceptual level. Brilliant.

@@RedRose.90 Is not really that difficult. I've just finished getting the Big Boss codename in Extreme, the difficulty comes when you do a non-lethal run because using the tranquilizer gun means less dmg and no stun against certain enemies. For example, that sniping part is less difficult when using the regular PSG-1 rather tham the T version. Tengus are much easier using Nikitas and Stingers.

g morel well no I think you need to watch MGS2 ending better because it was onclot who did that remember his words ITS TO LATE arsenal gear is going haywire it’s on a emergency set course then when he gets possessed by liquid snake he was the one to do the honers remember liquids snakes says before getting away it’s like stuffing it’s a good way to go! this tells me liquid snake was the one to push the button because noticed as soon as he says that arsenal takes off to federal hell New York 🤔 so no it wasn’t solidus who did that at all.

One of my favorite songs from my favorite game, MGS2, which is my first Metal gear game I actually played. The plot of the game was just genius, all the twist and turns, and how you slowly start to find out Raiden's terrible past, then at the end fight the person who made your life horrible. This game is just over all amazing to me. Hideo Kojima you are awesome!

God I love this game. The way it fucks up your head is incredible, and the soundtrack just intensifies this. Just listen to the effects starting at 1:11. It's literally like the game's going to break. If you ask me, Harry Gregson-Williams has nothing on this guy. Compared to this masterpiece, his music is just noise.

@TheSnk1001 No, it is a new system introduced in this collection. Basically, it transfers the save from a PS3 game ported from PSP, to the PSP (Let's remember that Peace Walker isn't the only game from PSP that is going to come out in PS3), that way you can use your save in both versions of the game. Of course, you can then transfer it back to PS3 and keep playing with the updated graphics and features.

Thanks. That was much more helpful. Pity I didn't manage to get MGS 2 when it first came out. Got MGS 4 though, but no PS3 to go with it just yet. Been viewing the videos of both games, on and off. I just wonder if this track could've been given a different title instead of sharing one with the one in MGS 4. Direction-wise, they're both different.

You may or may not know this, but that is actually the point where the song switches from the Metal Gear Rays version to the Solidus Snake version. So your comment is most fitting.
