I absolutely adore the piano piece in this song. This always pierces right through me whenever I come back and play MGS2. I will always remember the parting shot of the Statue of Liberty with the Sons of Liberty title and the piano. Iconic masterpiece.

Snake gave us all something to think about..u just cant imagine that a video game character could be so powerfull.. That piano when Snake leaves is like letting go of someone you really trust to move forward whether you like it or not. So poignant.

This is seriously one of the best piano pieces I've ever heard... So serene and emotional, gives you hope for a better future (despite all of the bad things this series shows us for a future).

Very awesome song. I got teary-eyed when it popped up in the 4th game.

MGS2 was my first MGS game; at this point of the game, my mind was so fucked up because of the argumental twists near the end, that i didn't know what to feel (I didn't know if Raiden's life was all invented by The Patriots, or Rose was real), and all the child soldier with thraumas thing didn't help at all... I must say this song fit that moment in a perfect way... at least for me

@1123JBC Last I heard, it's getting completely revised, as in they changed the whole story, so all the trailers and such mean nothing now. We'll have to be patient, and hope it's good, even though Hideo handed the game over for others to mainly make it, I think he is still supervising everything, so hopefully it will be good. We'll just have to wait and be patient, I'm sure it will come out within the next year or so. Hope I helped.

@WorldOfSnakes Also, I found a 2 min. version of it on internet just now. On my computer, I have the full 8 min. version of the song as it's played on the ipod in MGS4. I looked for years for it! However if you just want the 2 min. version, which sums up the best parts, I'll send you a link in a message.

I am a lot of fan of the xbox 360 and of the Halo also, but the series Metal Gear it always marked my life (I have all for table consoles... minus the four) and as the quality of both titles, I have to admit, MGS4is away better.

@DonFarshido I have to disagree. I found MGS1 better. I prefer Snakes origin story over Raiden's. PERSONALLY MY FAVORITE EVENT IN MGS HISTORY IS THE SHADOW MOSES INCIDENT.
