Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the best games I've ever played, and it has nothing to do with its emotionally flaccid story.

I have to say, your videos are all great and your opinions are all well-explained, but god damn I have never seen an MGS fan with this much consistent raw contempt for the story in every entry lol.

I love how in the cave if you sit your controller down for a stint Snake's eyes will actually adjust to the darkness just like our eyes do in real life. The attention to detail in the Metal Gear Solid series is just crazy!

I dunno how to feel upon knowing these fire reviews are made by a man who feels okay with bringing up WB show, Arrow, as being something good. I really gotta rethink things here, reevaluate.... But nah, love the vids.

Mans speaking facts the story is probably the 2nd worst and the series and is blindly praised because it’s the easiest to understand with goated gameplay 8/10 the boss is a mid character that kojimbo can’t seem to not include in every single game making her less and less impressive giving her godlike status just makes me wanna roll my eyes she gives 40 minutes of exposition then beats snake up gives a 30 minutes monologue then dies

@@doggoboggo3140 if its so easy to understand why did he get it wrong? lmao shes the whole reason snake is the way he is she was sent undercover then betrayed for America to save face leading snake to be resentful and hate the US military which is why he left and even gave up the title of "big boss" , all of you that claim the story is "simple" dont understand it which is fine not everyone has to amylase the story but what makes it obvious you have room temp IQ is how confident you are in your wrong statements she was a mother to him betrayed by the country he loved and fought for

Again, there's a lot I don't agree with, but you put a great deal of thought into this and presented your case very well! Even the points I don't FULLY agree with, I can still at least see where you're coming from. I never minded the massive chase, simply because the controls were better than in MGS1 and the music was brilliant, but I can see why someone would dislike it. I'd also concede that Shagohod is probably one of the weakest boss fights in the whole series. Also, that GZ jab was so true, it *genuinely* hurt to remember. Well done. 'XD

I find it shocking how this great game did so poorly in the sales and sold amongst the least in the entire series.

It's simple: MGS: This is a revolutionary game, everyone loves it. Sales are high MGS2: A sequel to a revolutionary game that everyone loved. Sales are high MGS3: Everyone is skeptical and feel betrayed by Kojima for the Raiden fiasco. Sales are low. MGS4: People restored faith in Kojima because 3 was a great game so they buy the finale of the series. Sales are high

Awesome review! I found the story quite dull but the gameplay was great. I agree with a lot of your points. I found the pace at the beginning and early part of the game frustratingly slow, but thankfully then it picks up later on. However, the Shagohod was not a good boss fight. And since this a "Metal Gear Solid" game, I expected a good "Metal Gear" model/fight (REX in MGS1 was great, The RAYS in MGS2 was great as well). But This was the letdown for me. Still, pretty great overall though.

Kojima is such a copycat of American movies. I think it goes without saying that, he takes a lot of inspiration and ideas from movies. There are several parallels to other movies. One example is the following. MGS1-3 could have been a trilogy like Back To The Future. The first two are set in time periods close to each other and the third one takes a far leap back into the past. You can also see how Buford Tannen (BTTF Part 3) swings his guns and how Young Ocelot likes to swing his guns a lot in MGS3. Lol.

Movies are a big part of Kojima's life. Movies are his real passion, not games, that is why you see so many references and a character like Para-Medic that is a fanatic for movies.
