Metal Gear is the only series where a cyborg ninja has a knife duel with a bisexual vampire whilst an old, dying clone fights off a horde of mooing 4-Meter tall mechs in order to let an Otaku hack a giant mech with a chicken robot and it totally makes sense in-universe. I will always *love* this series.

Solid's smirk after Raiden makes the kill on Vamp is what this is all about. This was Raiden's first personal kill that runs identical to Snake's modus operandi. It was like Solid seeing his very own son finally "grow" up.

There's also a bunch of little parallels to Solid and Liquid in Vamp and Raiden. Biggest one being the hand to hand duel on top of the very same destroyed Metal Gear Rex

Ummm... "Regular guy"? The guy that took several bullets to the face, sat on water with no bouyancy, stood on that same water, ran at least a hundred feet up a wall after running on water, dodges bullets, parries them with knives, drowned and was sitting behind Raiden and Snake at the end of MGS2 with the same jacket he left in the big shell, slaughtered an entire team of navy seals with nothing but knives, can jump several meters in the air, could paralyze you with shadows, and put the cyborg that stopped outer heaven out of commission for a COUPLE of levels? What is your definition of a guy that isn't regular?

@@SackieBum "he can't do that any more. Learn the lore." Did you NOT see him jump on top of the metal gear immediately after snake pulled that needle out of his neck? Those machines weren't responsible for ALL of that, apparently. Only things they TEMPORARILY shut off was the healing... Which reactivated as soon as Raiden did what was supposed to be the finishing slice.

@@boyhammer4000 his regeneration turned back on during his fight with Raiden... That's why Otacon had to give him the syringe again. It wore off. The same way the effect wears off on Snake.

Same with Metal Gear Ray. Seen as the big boy in the beginning of MGS 2 and then later you fight 6 of them. Then in MGRR you kill one in the first 20 minutes of the game lmao.

Raiden uses CQB, not CQC. He fights primarilly with strikes. And that constant moving and twisting of his hands keeps the enemy on guard

I really wish they would release this game and make a second story mode where you play during the events from Raiden's point of view. Not only would it be cool to play as Raiden in moments like this, but it would also be a great way of going more into Raiden's backstory before the events of this game, like maybe finding out why he became a cyborg.

Hey bro, What Version of rpcs3 are you running? I can't get illusion to run for shit on my pc and the version i have, The game runs but the sound is messed up at some parts.

Uhh for this video I made a while back I used Illusions custom build. I think for the sound issues you need to use an older version of RPCS3 0.0.14 or below and move the hard drive data the game creates on the old rpcs3 version from \dev_hdd0\game\MGS4_ID into the new rpcs3 version

I have never seen such a visual implementation where half the screen is showing a fight equally exciting going on somewhere else as you play on the other half. For them to have animated that whole scene whilst you play is just.. delectable. It makes the game feel so alive. What a legendary series. But no one is asking how Raiden teleported the knives from his chest into Vamp? I seriously don't get that part. Even if he used some electromagnetic force to repel the blades out of his body or some magic, how are the knives rotated 180 degrees into vamp?

Watching the fight, we see that Vamp almost always has superiority against Raiden, possibly he has many more years of experience in "acrobatic fighting" if you can call it that. Only at the end of the fight does he make a fatal mistake, which Raiden takes full advantage of. After all, that's what a fight is all about, taking advantage of the opponent's weaknesses.

I remember several of my pals giving me a real hard time because i liked MGS2 and Raiden better over Solid Snake. My pal called on the phone after playing some of this and said "Okay, I can get why you liked him. He is pretty awesome, but I still hate him." I asked him why and he said he'd be over in a little while to show me. He was mad he couldnt watch the fight lol.

Yeah luckily my 3080 seems to run it pretty well :P but I think one section I got massive frame drops was the motorcycle section of the game with Big Mama. Had drops till down to like 10FPS at that section.

The only thing which I hate about this boss fight is that, it's a split screen, the fight between Raiden and Vamp is so awesome, but you can't really watch it in real time coz you'll be busy with a fight of your own.... 😂😂😂 But I have to admit, this is one of my favorite boss fights of all time in any game

Know the is just a *little* late but you can charge the railgun and 1-shot the gecko’s using only 1 ammo per kill.

He's an experiment, not supernatural. He developed a taste for blood as a child when his family was killed in a church bombing and he was trapped with their bodies, so he had to drink their blood to stay alive. He became an expert knife fighter and was later augmented with nanomachines that essentially made him immortal and gave him super speed.

Both i guess? His nanomachines is canonically what makes him able to regenerate and keep him from being dead but i don't think his superhuman agility, superhuman speed or superhuman strength explained at all

I must say this mini boss fight is still the most innovative story telling in video game history to this date October 2022. I didn't get to watch what happened between those two until now. I was too busy playing with big a$$ rail fun. The duel was amazingly staged in its production. However, Raiden's cyborg power and speed being overcome by the muscle power of a mere mortal isn't most convincing. Blade lacking habit of vamp feels kinda cliche. The duel alone, 8 out of 10.

Vamp's style of fighting relies A LOT on dexterity, unpredictability, and flexability. However, I believe he was also stated to be competent in CQC, which had been shown to work on far larger opponents (Naked Snake and The Joy against Volgin on every occasion). Raiden does not know cqc. So it makes sense.

It can one hit bosses, as I recall. I finished off Raven like that. Only reason it didn't instakill her was because she has to do that "Let me go lay down" phase. That second fully charged shot did it.

Having really strong legs is not a very uncommon thing in these games. Remember that snake actually jumped over a giant boulder that gray fox cut in Twin Snakes. I believe he also kick Metal Gear Rex away from him when it tried to stomp him.

@@cynicalnitro8416 Solidus jumped on top of Metal Gear Rays and shooting them in the head. Gray Fox jumped above Metal Gear Rex to avoid getting crushed. Raiden jumped on top of Gekkos, Metal Gear Ray, and Excelceus and cutting them to pieces. So yes, not uncommon in Metal Gear.

According to Hideo Kojima, Cow "Moo's" are supposed to relax and coax the player into a false sense of security. Think of it like this, what if you seen a T-Rex trying to kill you, but instead of a loud roar it let out a cats "meow".. Its unnerving and throws you off. While playing this game, the Gekko are intimidating and difficult to deal with. So hearing the cow sounds seriously freaks you out.

The only reason Vamp have the upper hand is because Raiden wasn't experienced enough and didn't used his sword, he only used one knife while Vamp used all of his knife
