Angelina's interpretation and the respect she showed to Freddie on this tribute is amazing. The mask reflecting the feeling Freddie had going on stage and performing with a smile even tho he was in pain physically and emotionally and then releasing the mask with that twinkling sound is pure art. The belting with the decrescendo to a cry in her voice and then the flutter in her voice when saying the make up must be flaking. The ending belt is so emotional with a fade to black. Angelina's low register is one of her biggest strengths. I think you would appreciate her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die" at barely 12 with a powerful voice with some lower notes. There isn't more "rock" songs but I would be failing you as someone who understands music if I did not request you react to her 10 year old performance of "FEELING GOOD, Live on the Stream Gir Tilbake" on stage with a great full jazz orchestra. I don’t think there’s much territory where your musical world and Angelina’s overlap, but it’s clear to me from your comments that you appreciate good music. She’s not going to give us an imitation of Freddie, but as you noted, she has her own soul that is different, but authentic. Something you might enjoy because it will show you why Angelina is called the girl with a thousand voices is her cover of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind. It’s 1960’s soul singing completely over the top and truly jaw dropping. She did that a year earlier, at 13. It’s Angelina killing it in a way none of us ever heard before.

If you want to hear her low register, Born to Die cover, Shield, or even How Great Thou Art. But one of my favorites is Nancy Sinatra's, Bang Bang. She performed this at Norway's got Talent when she was 7 (She went on to win the competition).

She's almost 16 and that is often the "year of independence" in the US. In part it has to do with getting a driver's license. I know I got quite independent - until I landed in traffic court. Regarding Angelina's covers of Etta James: "At Last" is probably Etta James' best known piece. My personal favorite of her's is, "I'd Rather Go Blind." It's grittier. I like the lyrics more. The tag line and title, "I'd Rather Go Blind" I find even more appealing than "At Last," which is a great title on its own. Angelina does a killer version of "I'd Rather Go Blind" just sitting on a blue couch with a microphone in her hand singing to a backup track.
