Their main influences are the great metal bands from the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Just my opinion, but that right there is the greatest metal band in the world right now, one of the greatest guitar duos of all time, and one of the greatest metal bands of the last 40 years. They bring classic metal back with a modern twist, are insanely technical and talented in all positions and sound better live than they do in studio. Nothing short of a miracle of a band. Its sad that so many metal heads have never even heard of LOVEBITES. They are elite musicians, probably one of the top three metal bands on the planet in terms of pure musicianship, along with Dream Theater and Symphony-X. But it is great to see the smiles on the faces of old (or if you prefer, mature) metal heads when they first discover LOVEBITES. They have nearly 60 original songs, and not a single bad song in their catalogue. This song is Thrash Metal, but the majority of their catalogue probably fits better under the broad category of Power Metal/NWOBHM. You'll hear obvious influences from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Testament, Metallica, Motörhead etc. Enjoy the journey.

Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack, Lovebites fans around the world will be along to give you information about them. Lovebites are a five piece Japanese all female metal band formed in 2016 by two former members of Destrose, a all female band that broke up in 2015. They are influenced by the British and European metal bands from the 1970's and 80's such as Iron Maiden, Metallica and Judas Priest to name three. Founder member Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, Bass player with Maiden. Lovebites are the first Japanese female band to play at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, and have played the Bloodstock festival in the UK amongst others. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force, Herman Li appearing on stage in a white dress as the 'missing sixth member of Lovebites' during the end of tour show in Newcastle upon Tyne. The same year they opened for Arch Enemy in China. The concert this video is taken from was played in 2021 under Covid regulations. The audience was restricted to 50% capacity, with mandatory masks and no shouting and cheering. This is part of the reason the band do not move around the stage as much as they normally would. Also, one member, Miyako, is several months pregnant. She played the near two hour concert without a break, her only concession being to wear flat shoes rather that the usual high heels. She gave birth to a daughter later that year. Asami, the vocalist had a baby not too long after. These ladies are tough ! The band members are; Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained as a Ballet Dancer and was a R&B singer before joining Lovebites. She writes many of the Lyrics and sings in English (except for one early recording) She has a strong Japanese accent, but if you let yourself become familiar with it, she is not hard to follow. Midori, Guitar. She is the blond 'Amazon Warrior' on the left. She is a body builder and has scored well in competitions. Miyako, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards. Long black hair on the right. A classically trained pianist, she writes much of the bands music, often incorporating themes from classical works into her compositions. (In her spare time she is also a wife, mother, animal lover, Star Wars fan, gear head and enjoys fishing 😄) Both play lead, swapping to and forth. LOVEBITES' "un-metal-band-like" feminine white costumes tend to put off many metalheads before they even hear them play. Of course, they understand this, but they are still proud of their femininity, and even if they are not accepted by others and become lone wolves, they chose to wear the costume and made the wolf the symbol of their band to stand up for their beliefs. In this video Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is playing a custom Dean Switchblade, and if I remember correctly, has a different pickup configuration than the Razorback. She is a Dean endorsed artist that also plays a Custom Dean Flying V as well as a Custom Dean Icon Denim with a PRS style body. The Icon is pretty much her signature guitar and whats most associated with her. She does however also play Gibsons live; Les Paul, Custom Shop Korina V, and a Custom Shop Futura. Then on top of being an exceptional guitarist, she's a classically trained pianist since age 3 and also plays bass and drums. Btw, she also didn't start playing guitar until 18 and was mostly self taught off a Japanese guitar instruction manual, loosely translated as "Phrases From Hell", and learning songs by ear. The first metal song she ever learned by ear was "Master Of Puppets". She's an exceptionally talented musician and composer. LoveBites has a diverse catalogue with over 50 original songs (They also have a killer cover of Judas Priest's "Painkiller") with not one dud or average song, imo. I highly suggest you go through as many LoveBites songs as you can because each one is unique in its own way, and they don't just stick to one particular style of metal. Under the many great songs of LB (I'm not aware of a single mediocre one) I recommend the pretty recent song "The Hammer of Wrath" (live 2003): The former bass player and band co-founder Miho left LB for private reasons. The band was on hiatus for 18 months (during which the singer Asami and the black-haired guitar and piano player Miyako got their babies) until Fami joined the band as new bass player. With the "Hammer" she played for the first time a live concert with LB. A must see is the Swan Song WITH the Chopin intro (live 2020) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jaiYp9SYzr6pcWg.html Miyako holds a university degree in playing classic piano. Finally I recommend LB's cover version of Judas Priest's Painkiller - unfortunately there is only a fan made MV: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h7elbLOC0tOse30.html LB produced the cover shortly after Asami joined the band. Asami, until her accident a trained classic ballet dancer and later R&B singer allegedly asked at the time "Judas who?". 😇🥰

You will be more and more impressed when you hear a new Lovebites song. I can't wait to see your reaction when you hear the songs "The Crusade" and "Holy War". They are incredible music.

"I didn't know there was stuff like this out there". That's because popular music in the U.S. is controlled by mega corporations who only want radio to play those artists they control and represent. There's a whole world of great music out there, from Scandinavia (Nightwish, Sabaton, Amon Amarth) to Ukraine (Jinjer) to Indonesia (VoB--Voice of Baceprot) to India (Bloodywood) to Mexico (The Warning). But you won't hear any of them on U.S. radio. I'm 77 and I've heard many of the greats live. The Who, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, ELP, AC/DC, and so many more. Nightwish is the best band I've ever heard.
