You’re a great teacher Tubal showing us how it’s done without the need for fancy workshop machines! It installs a bit of confidence in having a go myself . Thanks dude 👍

I like these videos without using expensive machines, some like the stretcher shrinkler are not very expensive, neither is the bead roller, but if you want an English wheel, it immediately becomes ruinous, thank you for these videos, ( Ricco from France)

What up Ricco! Thanks man that's why I wanted to share some of these videos because you can do a lot with just hand tools. Even the Eastwood English wheel I use in my videos is around $350. Wich is pretty affordable considering. Also if you use my code "NATHAN10" you get 10% off and I also get a kick back from Eastwood! Thanks for watching bro I really appreciate it🙏

@@BeAMetalFabricator Your demonstration of work with manual tools is excellent, regarding the English wheel, it is true that we now find it cheaper, table model, the return system to the prescriber, I know, it is “win win” everyone wins, but shouldn’t it be “made in USA” manufacturing? You should also see that I am in France. I watch several American channels on YT (Wray Shelling) but many others too. Thank you very much for your response, because it's quite rare.

Hello Tubal, great tutorial! Now when you planish the flange, is it better to do it by hand, or can you use the planishing hammer without worry of distortion ? Ricky👍🇨🇦
@BeAMetalFabricator
@BeAMetalFabricator 2 ай бұрын
What's up Ricky! A planishing hammer would be a great option! But by hand works too. You will just have to be careful not to stretch it too much or you will have to go back and shrink if the panel starts to curve again

I really enjoy watching your videos. I'm no metal fabricator but the second demonstration seemed to be the most efficient and looked as if it would only require a small amount of shrinking. Am I correct?
@BeAMetalFabricator
@BeAMetalFabricator 2 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! Well since each panel was exactly the same they all took an equal amount of shrinking, the second method (hammer form) was more of a tuck shrinking method, you can see the metal gather together and create a tuck and as I proceed to hammer the tuck out the metal tends to shrink in those spots. Thanks for watching!

Why did you use a plastic faced hammer on the hammer form? Curious how you would make a curve U-shaped piece.
@BeAMetalFabricator
@BeAMetalFabricator Ай бұрын
I used that hammer only because I like it, a metal hammer would work too! Also for a U-shaped piece, the same process applies, if the flange is on the outside of the U-shape, the metal would shrink. But if the flange is on the inside of the U-shape the metal would have to stretch. Thanks for watching man

...and if you don't have a "shrinker"?
@BeAMetalFabricator
@BeAMetalFabricator Ай бұрын
Then the hammer form is your best bet. But a shrinker stretcher is super affordable at harbor freight. Also you can always cut the tuck and weld it in a pinch(not recommended)
