Just want to bump the recommendation for Ijime, Dame, Zettai from Sonisphere 2014 that Jake made. It was their first festival outside of Japan and were actually moved from a side stage to the main stage a few months before the show due to a lot of online buzz around the band. You'll see that professionalism has been present forever, and they absolutely killed it. Su, the lead singer, was just 16 at that show and the other two were had just turned 15. It was a turning point for the band and launched them into the international spotlight, and they even sold more merch at the show than Iron Maiden or Metallica who both performed on that same stage later and the following day.

It's an official video from Babymetals' page (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html) so you will need to filter it or it will most likely get blocked. I would set up a patreon, twitch or some other viewing platform in case it does gets blocked. Amuse, the company that handles Babymetals distribution is notorious for blocking to include actual strikes for blocked content. Welcome to the Foxhole. I,D,Z Sonisphere 2014 is my personal favorite.

Thanks for coming back with the live versión, as you can see SuMetal and the girls can make everyone sing no matter if you're metalhead or not, that's the power of several years of crowd control and of course the power of the Fox God -NotACult- 🦊🤘 The band you saw with them is called Kami Band and is the regular band after 2014, according to the lore (yep they got lore) they were send by the Fox God to help with metal sound, they're the god of guitars, god of bass and god of drums. They're a elite set of musicians and among the best you can find in Japan. All of them are males, of course they got their own names but those never went on public officially, except for one who is credited for certain songs at studio album. They rotate so not always you'll see the same members, especially the guitarrists. They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P.🙌 - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling to upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. This was live at Download Festival 2016 and as you can see it was raining like there's no tomorrow, i let someone else explain the funny story of Download, even the producer and creator KobaMetal had to mope the stage to prevent the girls got some accidents, is risky when the stage is wet. Thanks a lot for the shout-out and for next recommendation try Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 to listen something different and witness a turning point moment for their career. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

All of BabyMetal is super professional. Singer has been on stage since age 5, acting and music school, vocal coaches and BabyMetal is her 4th band at age 12. Her producer saw her perform at age 9 for a Karen Girls show (Previous Band) and said that is my girl and I got plans for her. He protects her like she is his daughter, we know almost nothing of her private life. She is so cool and in control, she has been known to take a nap right before a show. Super pro.

@@vegeta6555 You could probably walk straight past them in the street and you would not know... As themselves, no doubt they stay low level in their ordinary lives. It's probably part of their upbringing and the Japanese way of life. Japanese people tend to shy away from any attention and the girls are most likely no different. Not like some western 'stars' who insist on being in the focus of everything, all the time, craving the attention on and off the stage,.

Ah, Karate at Download 2016.... This is my goto vid to show my friends what Babymetal is all about. Other people might show Headbanger, Road of Resistance, or Rondo of Nightmare..... Those are great performances, don't get me wrong, but this here is basic Babymetal. Su's Vocals, the Kamiband rocking out, Yui and Moa leading the crowd, and the Crowd participation. These girls can control a crowd better than older veteran bands, with a professionalism and seeming ease, that is so at odds with how young they are. In some of their Japan mega concerts you'd expect the Japanese crowd to go bonkers, but to see the look of surprise on my friends faces, when they witness a sea of non-Japanese metal heads, singing along with 3 little Japanese girls... That is priceless. Honestly, Babymetal is first and foremost a live performance group..... Listening to their CD's, you're only getting 1/3 of the whole performance, The Kamiband and the crowd interaction is the other 2/3 (and the stage, the light/pyro show, etc).... Which is why a lot of the official MV's of Babymetal songs are basically pro shots of their concerts....Doesn't get any better than that.🤘🦊🤘

"Karate" also features djent-like riffs, and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song @ the 2016 Annual Loudwire Music Awards. That "Hashire" in karate will always tear me up everytime. It just gives me a sense of epicness and energy that I have never felt with other songs before. Noticing little things like Su removing her IEM to hear the crowd always gets a thumbs up from me. KamiBand:- "The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL". In an interview, SU-METAL talks about this performance: ” Download Festival 2016 was one of the most impressive festival for us. It rained a lot that day. Just before our turn, it started pouring. The stage manager said to us, “OK, it's your turn. Let's get started!” but obviously the situation was too bad for us to start. The stage floor was flooded. Playing in the rain is very difficult and dangerous for all bands. On top of that, we BABYMETAL dance on the stage. In back of the stage, the managing staff were discussing whether we should wait for the rain to stop, or even cut some tunes from the set list. It was in such restless and nervous situation when we started our performance. However, thousands of people had been waiting to see BABYMETAL in the pouring rain, and it touched us so much. We might have to stop performing halfway due to the rain, but or so we tried to do our best under extreme tension. While dancing we often slipped and found it very hard to perform, yet we had no choice but to concentrate thoroughly on our performance. Yui, Moa and I said to each other, “Watch your step!” Even in such terrible situation, we just wanted the audience to enjoy BABYMETAL. During the performance I sang and danced thinking such various things. After the performance, I felt really relieved because we were able to finish without any accident or injury. On the other hand, I might say the pouring rain made our performance in Download Festival 2016 very dramatic and emotional. Above all, the enthusiastic reaction of the audience pushed us forward. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.” After reading it, watching Yui & Moa lying on the flooded stage and Su calling to the audience, I can’t help crying more than ever.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。As you noticed, it was raining very hard. Equipment on the stage were covered and floor was all over wet. Three girls could have aborted the performance and gone back to a comfortable hotel but they didn't because the huge crowd was waiting and no one left the venue. The girls never modified their choreo even on the slippery stage (You can actually see Su-Metal slipping lightly at 03:43 in your video. ). On the contrary, Yui and Moa threw themselves onto the wet floor and Kamis moved their bodies hard (BOH, bassist, jumped) with the girls to cheer up everyone there. Those scenes moves me to tears. In an interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the bad weather. She felt very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. I love such a positive mindset of Su to accept any situation.

Su-metal's vocal talent is the reason that Babymetal exists. Their producer Kobametal saw her perform as a 10-year old and was so impressed by her powerful voice and unique stage presence that he was inspired to create a hybrid idol/metal group with her as the centerpiece.

Su is a soprano with a vocal range of C4 to G#5 (G#6 once, when dueting with Rob Halford on 'Painkiller'). She was only 18 here and Moa and Yui were 17 and her - and Moa's - vocals have only improved over the years. Love that last, long note Su holds. Try their first appearance at a Metal fest outside of Japan in 2013, at Sonisphere, a;so in the UK. Nice reaction. Babymetal earned their legendary status from live performances. They Wow the audiences everywhere they go. Sometimes I feel like their albums are just samples of the greatness you will witness when you get to see them live. It's been said that going to a Babymetal concert is a life altering experience. For this performance they were at download which got nick named drownload that year because it rained so hard. Just before Babymetal started there are pics of their producer Koba sweeping the water off the stage. It still was raining a bit when they performed. But that crowd wasn't going anywhere. Babymetal has been trained that it doesn't matter what the conditions are. When you perform you do the best you can. That old adage of leaving it all on stage. There is a clip of Moa literally dropping to the floor backstage. At another festival appearance they had to take a break because Moa was getting heat exhaustion. It was extra hot that day. Moa is the smallest of the group. Even if she thinks she's not smol. Su is an outstanding height of 5'2". Yui and Moa are shorter than that. It's anyone's guess just how small Yui and Moa actually were. Since they were still growing at the time. I don't know whose idea it was for the Kamiband to wear the makeup and death shrouds, but it works. They've worn them since their first appearance. More recently when they had to create the West Kamiband. They switched to black robes and masks. That happened because of scheduling issues. Can't be in two places at once. The Kamiband are session players with their own projects going as well. For some of that music checkout the "Kariband". It's jazz fusion metal type stuff that IMO is really cool. And you can check out the tribute they did for the guitarist who passes away (Mikkio). The song is 'Hill of Wisteria". That's an instrumental and Babymetal wasn't there that I know of. Not on stage anyway. Su is an amazing vocalist full of natural power and talent. Over the years she has added impressive skills to it as well. They all have. On the 3rd album you will get to hear a lot more of Moa singing harmonies and backing lines than ever before. Yui left the group before the 3rd album came out. Sadly, she's not on it. Because of that Moa had to focus more on her dancing as well. Moa truly upgraded herself. I think she used a life cheat code. They actual sing a song about a cheat code as a bonus song on the 3rd album. It's the only song they haven't performed live... YET. With a 4th album on its way. Only The Fox god Knows what they'll do on tour. Enjoy the rest of your journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

Great reaction and yes, it was heavily raining that year at Download. Their is a picture out in the wild where you can see Babymetal’s producer Kobametal mopping the stage to make it at least somewhat safe for them to perform. In all honesty, a lot of other bands would have cancelled because way too many things can go wrong in those wet conditions but Babymetal pushed through because so many fans were waiting for them in the rain and they didn’t wanted to disappoint them. Incredible professional! As for their age, well, that was in 2016, so Su was 18, and Yui and Moa were 16 (both their 17th birthdays were shortly after). Su can sing and so do Yui and Moa, all of them were part of Sakura Gakuin (a Jpop idol group) from 2010 until their graduation where they learned singing, dancing and everything else needed for the entertainment industry. What is most impressive to me is that Su is jumping and singing after the crowd interaction without missing a single note. I definitely support Jake’s suggestion for “Ijime Dame Zettai” live at Sonisphere 2014 as your next reaction. Their first big international appearance outside of Asia and the moment Babymetal was accepted internationally as a metal band. 🤘🔥🦊

Great reaction. BABYMETAL have a chequered history with Download UK. In 2014 they played at Sonisphere UK - the organiser of Download considered them to be a gimmick and said that there was a time and a place for a band like BABYMETAL, but it wasn't Download and they would never play there and effectively issued a ban on them. In 2015 BABYMETAL were due to play at an awards show in London with DragonForce not long after Download. Herman Li and DragonForce smuggled BABYMETAL into Download and the organiser saw them wandering round back stage in their costumes - he was tweeting asking what was going on. DragonForce were playing a side stage and during their set they invited BABYMETAL on stage, gave up some of their own time, and played 'Gimme Chocolate' with them. Word had got out and the crowd that went to see them was far greater than the capacity for that stage - they went down a storm. So here we are in 2016 and BABYMETAL are not only playing their own set at Download, they were on the main stage. Their set was delayed for 40 minutes because of the rain (described as 'biblical'). The equipment was covered and water was swept off the stage so they could go on and do their choreo ... there is a photo of their producer sweeping water off the stage. It was still wet and slippery so the girls said to each other to take care to avoid accidents. Their backing band are the Kami Band. They are some of Japan's very best session musicians. They only play live shows, you won't see them in official videos unless those videos were filmed at the live shows - and they don't play on the studio recordings (with one known exception - guitarist Leda Cygnus has recorded guitar and bass for a handful of the songs). For more reactions how about 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014 - their first time in the UK, their first major event outside of Asia and aged 16 and just turned 15 faced with a crowd of 50-60,000 UK metalheads where 98% of the crowd had no idea who or what they were. IDZ was the last song of their 5 song set - you can hear at the end what the crowd thought of them. Alternatively (or as well) 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan - this is the song that Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for them and recorded the guitars for the studio version.

But if you one day want a real experience, you gotta do a whole concert. I always recommend going for the rather small but epic Metrock show they did, where they played for only about 35-40 minutes. I'd suggest diving a little deeper into their catalogue on youtube but then the best thing would be to organize a watch party on Twitch. We can definitely help you with that. If you have a discord, I can join and help guide you through this at your own pace. I'm a 34 years old metalhead and only a handful of bands I've seen live in my entire life can even begin to compare to the quality and the epicness of BABYMETAL's live shows. If you're impressed at this point, just know you haven't even scratched the surface. Looking forward to your discovery journey :).

Seen them live 5 times (so far). Two of those were opening for another band - and in both cases, this song was the perfomance that won over even the skeptics in the crowd. They always go 100%, but there is something about Karate that even people hearing for the first time just kind of get it.

So you read all the comments, well here is one, BabyMetal performed Pain Killer and Breaking The Law, the Judas Priest classics, with Rob Halford of Judas Priest, live. They also performed Pain Killer with The Red Hot Chili Peppers. When interviewed Cory Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal"

BABYMETAL!!! so amazing live! every time i watch a live video it makes me wanna be there. cant neglect to mention their band, they have fkn skills. Bc of how they were put together, some metal heads say they arent truly metal, but I'd argue that. those little ladies on stage crushin it, challenging that metal stereotype is absolutely metal.

I was there that year and what even more impressive is that they even played and how many people are in the audience , that year is a year we refer to as drown load because during their set it is literally torrential raining right there, so many bands pulled out that year, and when we went back to the campsite half of it had flooded with people tents just floating down hills along with the river that had formed 😂. Was an amazing horrible muddy wet experience, but I gained even more respect for any of the band that still got on stage and played during it because so many pulled out and didn’t perform because of it, they did an amazing job

Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘. One of my favorites is BxMxC where they mix metal, dubstep and Su raps in Japanese. If you go back further then you really get into it. Headbangeeeeerrrrrr, Rondo of Nightmare, Catch Me if you Can, Road to Resistance and of course Gimme Chocolate. There are to many songs and festivals to mention. And the crowd is insane in every single one of them. This is my favorite band in the world. Thanks for the reaction. Have fun with it.

the two "side girls" as you out it, Moa and Yui are listed as scream/dance. Think of them like cheerleaders. they are there to help Su with some vocals (though they do have 4 songs as Black Babymetal) when Su needs a break. And Su has 4 solos when Moa and Yui need a break. The show was listed as 2016 so I'm guessing Su is 18 in this video and Moa and Yui are 16/17 depending on what month this was. People will always say "live" is better because there is less altering of the voices, but I do enjoy the m/v of this song because it better shows the story. In the m/v you better understand the song is about overcoming obstacles and if you get knocked down you have to get back up, and in the m/v the final obstacle was actually themself. The top songs that cross my mind for live shows would be Headbanger Legend 1997 (Su's 16th birthday) and Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) Amuse is quick to claim ownership so you may have to find versions with an overlay on them to avoid copyright claims. And for the band, they are the Kami band, Kami meaning ghost/spirt thus the reason for the whate face and death robes

The evolution of this group has been amazing to watch. Not often can we can see that in real-time from such a young age. These ladies were like 12 when they debuted at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival lol. The youngest ever to perform there as what was I doing at 12 here lol. 🤔 In fact I think there is actually an earlier performance elsewhere which kinda borders on should I be watching this lol. Actually it's of MoA I think as she was a complete bassass even back then!! Well Karate was one of my favorites here as well up until basically today lol. Devine Attack-Shingeki just dropped hours ago which is a new visualizer single to their upcoming album The Other One. Which drops on March 24, 2023 and it's f*** epic as hell!! If there are any detractors left they better dig their grave. Babymetal is back from the underworld & they are taking no prisoners lol. Also they will be on tour with Sabaton in April on his European tour so there is that as well. 💕🦊🤘

Music Video BABYMETAL is just a small glimpse until you witness their final form: Live BABYMETAL. I've never been so in awe at witnessing performances. Everyone involved in the whole project deserves all the praise in the world. The music is only part of what makes the group so special as well. The One, or now The Other One per se, is probably the greatest thing I can honestly say that I've been a part of. Recommendations for live performances is sometimes difficult. Some of my favorites don't exist on KZfaq, but I'll always suggest "Megitsune : Apocrypha Red Night". The energy from the girls, Kami Band, and especially the all female crowd is off the charts and gives me chills every time. If you look hard enough, you can probably find it. KZfaq wise, "IDZ Sonisphere 2014" or even anything from Budokan 2014 is a great place to start.

Kami Band Members here are : Mikio Fujioka - Guitar (Died Jan 2018) Bohte "BOH" Saisuke - Bass Hideki Aoyama - Drums Takayoshi Ohmura - Guitar This is line up is considered the Main Kami band There are others members who rotate out (mainly on guitar) such as Leda Cygnus and Isao Fujita. *All 4 guitarist have their own signature model guitars. (BOH has a signature 6 string bass too). End of 2017 they took away solo intros from the band and in 2019 put mask on them while keeping them to the back. At the end of 2019 to 20 for their U.S. and European tour, they used a Rental band with members from Galactic Empire and "Drummer of 100 bands" Anthony Barone. The regular Kami band has been back since 2020 with Isao in place of Mikio.

Great reaction. Yes so much to discover down the Babymetal fox hole. Keep up the reactions you will love them. Their shows in Japan are crazy productions with big stages and more they are a joy to watch especially the shows in their homeland. But the international shows usually smaller stage are just as fun too. Of course this was big because it was a festival. If you like to see another one like this try Ijime, Dame, Zettai from Sonisphere 2014. It is an amazing song vocally and instrumentally. Also it was the girls first big performance outside of Japan . ITs a big part of Babymetal history. They were there with likes of Iron Maiden and many more top metal bands and yet the crowd loved them. IT is an epic live performance to check out. Also try Road of Resistance live in Japan and Headbanger Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse.

Thank you sir for a wonderful reaction to the band that changed my life forever. Since you're getting into them, time to learn their names then! 😁 Su-Metal-vocalist, Yuimetal (right glove) and Moametal (left glove). Since you're looking at their Live capabilities, if you like and if I may suggest, at their Glastonbury 2019 Live Su-Metal does a sweet variation to her "wo-oh wo-oh" segment. I'm new to the fray but to the best of my knowledge this is the only time I've heard her do a variation there, and it gets to me every single time I hear it. Anyways, glad you're enjoying! great reaction, & welcome to the METAL galaxy! the fun thing you'll learn about BABYMETAL the more you hear from them is that they experiment a lot with the genre, so each song is it's own unique experience. no two songs of theirs sound quite the same, & you never know what to expect from them, yet you'd never mistake them for anyone else. that's just how awesome they are. as for recommendations , i tried to avoid songs that have likely been listed a thousand times already, but some are essential listening to most fans & not listing them is blasphemy, so... 🤷🏻‍♀️ like most fans say, live is always better. 😊 anyways, here are some i'd recommend: - Kagerou - Awadama Fever - Gimme Chocolate!! - YAVA - Catch Me If You Can - Rondo of Nightmare - PA PA YA!! - BxMxC - Distortion - Megitsune

in your last video, you asked about who the leader is... from the beginning, the answer has definitely been their producer. i mean, watch _doki doki morning_ to understand just how little the girls were when they started this. they're much older in this one. and now, babymetal has been going for over a decade. su & moa have grown a lot, as you can see in a more recent song like _bxmxc_ (x's are silent). and their producer has been tasked with managing some nonsense metaverse initiative, so presumably he's not as hands-on with babymetal as he was to start with. of the performers, it's always been all about su. her voice really is fantastic. there are much better songs for featuring it, such as _rondo of nightmare_ (which is usually immediately preceded by some excellent instrumental solos as well, known as the "mischief of the metal gods" intro). the other girls typically don't even go on stage for _rondo of nightmare_ ; it's just su. they've occasionally had songs without su as well. and babymetal's musical catalog is much more varied than their different stage lineups. they're really all over the place, in a fantastic way. there is no "typical" babymetal song.

Ijime Dame Zettai, Sonisphere 2014. I recommend this for two specific reasons: 1. his was their first show outside of Japan, in front of a festival that had never heard of them or their genre before. They bumped BABYMETAL to main stage, out of nowhere. The girls had no idea what to expect, and were extremely nervous, but went out and crushed it. Incredulity turned into the entire crowd supporting them by the end. Some of the final wide pannings of the crowd show literally EVERYONE with their arms up, where at the start only a few people were into it 30 minutes prior. (IDZ is their closer in this era of the band, before Road of Resistance) 2. Su-metal is on record in an interview in 2017 or 2018, cant remember the specific year, saying this is one of the best moments of her entire career, watching the entire crowd fall in love with their music. She specifically notes how it grew in size with each song. By the end of it, you can tell in her facial expressions (she normally looks really serious and gives a "death glare" trying to be badass) show nothing but pure happiness, shes so in the performer zone and just living in the moment. Its one of her most "natural" on stage performances, even choreographed and rehearsed as it is. She cant help it, the emotions pour out of her. Whether you react or not, up to you, but at least watch it. Bonus if you find the full length fancams of the entire set. The start and end are exact opposites in terms of crowd participation. 1-100 in 30 minutes.
