This is the song that started my Journey with the guys 4 1/2 yrs ago! My "mic drop" moment was when a lady cut me off going into the federal parking lot at the Post Office Passport Center and got a nasty attitude like it was my fault . I told her she needs to act like an adult and feel lucky I had no time to argue with her! Her jaw dropped when she saw that the passport agent she had her and her kid's appointment with was me! Boy was she humble after that!😁

I'm pretty sure Suga doesn't drop his "real" mic. At some point towards the end of the song, he is handed a fake microphone to drop. There's even a live performance where he only had his actual mic so he gently laid it down on the stage as they walked off. 😊

It's been commonly talked about in the ARMY community, but it was recently confirmed by Charlie Puth that Jungkook also has perfect pitch. It's like his vocal chords have muscle memory for the notes and he just finds them effortlessly. Watching him sing Still With You acapella over vLive to Army is one of my favorite things ever, since that song has so many jumps and intricate melody shifts. He's truly a one in a million talent.

Mic Drop performances have been bespoke based on their audience + the stage [concerts, SNL, MAMA, etc.], they'll use different languages [Korean, Japanese, English], include a dance break [sometimes an extended dance break], sometimes include back up dancers [a lot of dancers!]. The gist of the song is basically the same but you're starting to listen to more of their discography, so you'll be able to differentiate between Korean lyrics and Japanese lyrics soon enough.

I started my BTS journey with Black Swan on the Late Late Show, so watching Mic Drop soon after was jaw dropping . I was like: what did i watch just now 😄. Down the rabbit hole i went 😉.

The snl performance is one of my faves

My 1st introduction to BTS was the idol mv, which was a lot for a 1st time look at them. I liked it but it was overwhelming. Then mic drop remix was suggested by youtube and that was it. I fell crazily down the rabbit hole and never looked back. My now late husband showed me idol, and after mic drop I had to learn everything about them lol. I would show my kids pictures of BTS and have them try to name them, I told them all the little facts I knew, & finally after 6 months of me stanning them, my kids all got into them as well and it's awesome. I took my middle kid with me to see BTS in LA last Dec, (& now all my kids will be joining me to see Ateez in Nov!) I'm still working on getting my friends into them or kpop in general even, but adults my age can be so close minded, especially my male friends. (I'm turning 50 in Nov) 🙄 But we did manage to get a couple of them to come around haha. 💜

There's one performance where Suga stopped rapping just to show the haters that they don't lipsync. It was cool to watch it. And Suga change it to a fake mic before tossing it. I have watched a video where the other members hand him a fake mic.

First mic drop moment is when a teacher left the room and an immature boy, who used edge lord humor, said a very bad racist joke. Another boy who was a bit of Alpha Male type, who physically matured rapidly in height and muscle mass, heard the joke and went for the guy. The class was cheering the later on and wanted to see the guys fight. But the boy who said the racist joke had no chance with his height and physique. Plus the more physically mature boy had incidents with anger, I was scared that this boy would really hurt the first boy and anyone who came in later. So I ran and pushed my way in-between them. I was able to separate them and told them to stop, it wasn't worth it. I don't know how I did this, not only because I was a 5'2" shy girl. But at this point of my life, I had very low self esteem and was quiet because of ostracized bullying. When I talked, no one spoke or acknowledged it so I caved into myself. Why say anything if it wasn't useful, if people treat you as if your existence is nothing, you start to believe it. But in moments like this, I could voice out and physically take up space if someone else was in trouble. When I went to therapy, this moment is a crowning jewel for me.

Mic Drop is one of their great epic songs and also the hardest to perform, the hardest MV to film.. if you watch the behind the scene of Mic Drop MV they were almost crawling because of fatigue. Same with their MAMA performance and the fact they performed 2 or 3 more songs with it, they almost could not walk back to their seats after. They really go hard to give us the best experience in their performances, I salute them for that.

OMG, I LOVE the Tiny Tans! They have so many songs, and they're all cute as can be. "Mic Drop" is awesome, and it's hard to say which version is my favorite. I might have to give the Steve Aoki version the nod, though - that man is amazing.

this is performed at a concert but in more serious awards show like MAMA and MMA they more formal and clean dance moves etc especially music shows 1 week after their album drops, they are alot more serious but you noticed in world tours they have more fun and is more carefree and suga during this period always purposely not rap a few lines because he was kind of mad of the haters keep saying they lip sync so he show they are not lol so savage. Even now when they perform suga do this just as a habbit just a fun thing to remember

The lyric video you just watched of Mic Drop had a lot of the lyrics translated wrong. The actual MV (which is a Steve Aoki remix) has English subs in it. I liked both versions of MiC Drop and it is actually the first song that got me hooked on BTS back in 2017. It was when they performed it on The Ellen Show.

Though Dynamite was my first taste of BTS, it was Mic Drop that cemented my ARMY journey. I love, love, loooooove this one!

so.. as a 3-month army.. it's time you learned the fan chants. many of the songs have their own fan chants, where the fans sing or shout parts of the song. these are released by big hit/hybe along with the comeback or release of the songs. They can also be found on a lot of fan sites. The members' names fanchant goes as follows: Kim Namjoon Kim Seokjin Min Yoongi Jung Hoseok Park Jimin Kim Taehyung Jeon Jungkook BTS! This is usually chanted before or in the middle of songs during a concert or performance. If you liten closely, you'll hear it on the mic drop live (the one that you liked, with the pyro) at the very begining of the song.

There is an animated video of a song ARMY made for BTS on our anniversary one year called "7 reasons"

The remix has a lot more English in it, that’s the big difference. And it’s my favorite version & this is a all time top BTS song for me.

Mic Drop is basically a diss track towards any of their haters in general, but the main underlying cause were some fans of other idol groups that were spewing hate towards them for no reason other than the possible threat of BTS invading their favorite bands' space. That is how it is in K-Pop, because there is such a great saturation of music labels & hundreds of music groups in such a small country, that fans feel threatened when a new group comes along (such as BTS) & other fandoms want to hate on them because one more additional band might mean less of a spotlight on their favorite bands that these fans had already invested time, money & emotion into them. It's not just that, but because of the culture & metrics imposed on idol bands, it becomes a more competitive spirit, to the point that the competition becomes too reactionary & aggressive as that fierce competition & jealousy spills into the different fanbases. Most notable of the competition are all the TV shows that start ranking & racing different KPop songs & each one wins by votes from the audience. Hope that makes sense. BTS Cyphers, on the other hand, are more of a diss towards other hiphop artists & rap fans that were thinking that BTS should not be hiphop artists because they became idols, as you probably already know. In summary, if this is your reaction video, then Mic Drop & Cyphers are a reaction audio, to their haters. Oh & I like the Aoki remix better. For one thing, Steve removed that gong-like timbre from the original. And yes, as someone already commented, that piano piece at the beginning of Tiny Tan is by Schubert (released in the early-mid 1800's), since that girl in the video plays western classical music as you can see from the sticky notes in the background.

Fun fact: Suga exchanges to a fake mic offstage at some point in their live performances (since his rap part is done) and he dropped a fake mic at the end. My mic drop moment came while singing karaoke 🎤 😄 I was at a small bar with friends in a college town and some of my female friends talked me into singing (after a few too many beers in) Anyways, I sang my song, I don't even remember what it was other than it was a country song. Maybe Blake Shelton. I appreciate your emphasis on lyrics as that is the main reason I personally decided to dig deeper and have continued to support them. As a senior citizen I have seen many groups come and go. These guys are truly a unicorn in the music industry. I was listening again today to Suga’s “Interlude-Shadow”. There is a video but I believe the full song on MOTS-7 is longer. I really think you would enjoy it and appreciate the lyrics if you haven’t seen it already.

I love how you check and react to every clip relaterade to each BTS song - from the original version, remixes, MVs, live performances and even the Tiny Tan versions.
