Ok I’m gonna out a long comment because I love these songs with a passion 💜 So the Save Me MV is actually one shot (and is not BU related). They struggled a lot filming due to weather conditions. It was raining, windy, and they were on uneven ground. Props to them and the staff for staying to get the perfect take. Also the dance break

I love "I'm Fine"... it's a mantra song... they are literally giving us the "FIGHTING spirit"!

Since I'm Fine has no dance practice I think to truly appreciate and see the choreography in full is to watch their performance on Jimmy Fallon. I don't often praise the camera work at talk shows but the camera work was great for that performance.

The way the wrote these two songs years apart to go together like a yin and yang and how they perform it live always blows me away. The way the filmed the one shot MV on a cold rainy day also fits it so well. Also the choreography for I’m fine is so powerful and beautiful.

Save Me tends to get all the love due to the amazing video, but I'm Fine is one of my favorite songs of theirs for just the brilliance of the reversal, lyrics and movement into Love Yourself and the live choreography which is so beautiful. Even RM's verse in IM FINE is the opposite of SAVE ME, because the two songs have the meaning of evolution in yourself and are like a "continuation". While SAVE ME is begging for being saved, for someone else, because u cant alone and u cant stay with yourself without the help of that person, can be for being hurt or for emotional dependence with other, IM FINE is the evolution, saving yourself, being okay with just ur persona, without waiting for someone else, because u are fine with you, u can control ur life and your emotions, and if sometimes u cant, its okay, because u have yourself and its enough for comforting ur hurt feelings. Need and no need other person. Dependence and loving yourself. This have relation with the albums too, its known that them do differents concepts of meanings, sides and moments of life for showing the evolution they or one person can have with themselves, others and the world. I'm so glad that the lyric breakdown from a Korean was added for "Save Me". I had never watched that before and it made me love the song and Namjoon's lyricism even more than I did before! As a writer myself I can really appreciate his play on words and it proves to me that once again that Bangtan's lyrics should be approached as decoding a wonderful work of poetry rather than a casual understanding of a pop song. The Save me video is, as many have said, remarkable and outstanding. But this is artistry rooted in poverty - they could only afford one day and no editing time, so it was done in one take (though they worked several different run-throughs) and the technical team and camera crew were amazing!

"I'm Fine" was well executed to the point of putting my analytical mind into a trance and giving me a moving, emotional experience.

I'm Fine is Save me upside down.. especially in their Logo of Save Me. literally the melody and chord progression of Save me is reversed on Im Fine :)

It was a one shot and like others commented it was rainy, windy and actually very cold. The funny thing was that at one point Suga messed up and they had to redo the entire video because of the one shot thing. So everyone was like "SUGA!!!" it was actually a funny moment but probably not that funny at the time. But it was truly a cool video. Korean is in subjects not just one letter at a time. So its like the way we conjugate adverbs. They do it with every verb has the adverb as well as the conjugation of the noun like "we do this nicely" so Korean is very beautiful in the way they describe each verb. So when translation Korean into English it is harder than you may think. The thing with Save Me and Im fine is that it is the same melody basically but backwards. So that was the need for double time in the corus. As you can see in the live. Save Me is a call out to ARMYs to help them and Im Fine was a call back that they are Fine Now and are able to help each other out of their troubles so ARMY has done their job and was a thank you.

These two songs are beautiful! BTS saying it's okay to ask for a hand/help and then telling us we are strong, pick yourself up, you'll be fine. And it's okay to feel both ways. Fighting!💜

My favorite connection between these two is that the repeated synth melody in I'm Fine is a retrograde version of the repeated synth melody in Save Me. It's the same thing backwards (though maybe at a different pitch level). I think it was Andrew Berg who brought that to my attention, and it blows my mind :)

Save me is one of my favorite BTS song , I don't know exactely why, but it touch me a lot. And I'm in admiration in front of the composition Save me/I'm fine, the musical creativity, the meanings , the choregraphy , which speak loud , all ! Incredible ambigramm. Also,, The making of the MV was the first I watch back in time, and it was the first time I realise how much effort they put on every performance, recording, choregraphy, how dedicated and professional they were (and still are) . I rarely see any comments that fully capture what's happening in "I'm Fine" in terms of the contrast between the outward confidence of the lyrics and the frantic, desperate and exhausted feeling conveyed in the choreo and their expressions. When I first saw this in performance, the sadness and the contradiction between the "I'm fine" and the tired affect at the end was so strong that I needed to know why it was so sad. The more I look at the words of these two songs, the more convinced I am that they are two ways of being in the struggle and crying for help: "Save Me" asks and is thankful for help from the outside, while "I'm Fine" is a person who hides the struggle with bravado and yet those around them know that it is also a cry for help. We know the boys made it through because of their determination and unwavering support of each other, and the current phase of their development is the Proof.

Save Me was my second BTS song, and my ARMY-maker. 😍💜 I wasn't ready to commit when I saw my first BTS MV, (a certain Hobi intro that is teased in this video), and only did a little mild thirsting. 😅 I remember thinking "I don't care about the other members, none of them could be as good as this guy!" 😏

I don’t think I am smart enough for that explanation but it sounds amazing. This is the reason I always feel like I’m trying to do math when trying to learn another language. That looked like math! It’s beautiful but my brain is overheating lol. I did just remember that in the Tiny Desk performance the translation was “gave my sadness to the dog” and I thought it was a cute mistake but it’s an alt translation. So I did learn something.

I personally love I'm Fine more than Save Me which is different I think than most people. I LOVE the connection these songs have, and Fake Love have with one another. My favorite interpretation: -IN Fake Love the backdrop behind V says, Save Me but if you flip it, it says I'm Fine. -I'm fine is like telling people you are fine or okay when you're not. -Save Me is an internal feeling of not being okay -these two while simultaneously presenting I'm fine as an external behavior and save me as an internal feeling -Also the beat for I'm Fine is actually uses the same beat as Save Me but it is played like backgrounds or flipped. You can hear 'Save Me''s melody/instrument clearly. You can also hear Tae saying "Save Me" many times throughout the reversed version. I strongly believe these songs are also connected to BU story.

I see you’re doing a lot of BTS but I encourage you to dive deeper into ATEEZ from your Guerrilla reaction. From their debut song “Pirate King” to “Wave”, “Answer”, “Wonderland”, “Hala Hala” and “Fireworks” they experiment with a lot of different sounds and use an edm anti-drop in a lot of their work. They absolutely thrive with a more rock-like sound which makes them different from most of the kpop industry. They have a whole story line as being pirates. Each of the inserts within their albums and their music videos give hints and spoilers into their story. They have 8 members. Hongjoong is the leader. Seonghwa, Yunho, Mingi, San, Yeosang, Wooyoung, and Jonhgo. Jongho is the maknae (youngest) and the main vocalist who you hear hitting all of high notes. His voice is incredibly powerful!

The two songs go so well together! I really love the Save Me video and as several people have mentioned the Bangtan Bomb showing the shooting of the video is awesome! I liked the in depth discussion of RM's lyrics - I think we miss a lot by not speaking Korean. I really wish I could understand them in their language. There is another reactor Andrew Berg - he's a jazz musician and reacts to BTS songs. He did an in depth comparison of the two songs and how they were similar and dissimilar - really cool.

Excellent reaction, as always! I love how musical motifs recur across all of the BTS catalog, including their solo albums. As i was listening to Save Me, I realized that some of instrumentation and melody in the verse is echoed in People on SUGA's AgustD D-2 album. It's just such a cohesive way of connecting their artistry and planting Easter eggs for us to find. ^_^

Seeing how nuanced and complex Korean can be to translate to English makes me appreciate RM more for learning English on his own using a sitcom. It had to be so difficult to figure out on his own jeez. So impressive

There's a picture online where someone broke it down and it's just. Kim Namjoon is a lyrical genuis and it's amazing to see all the little details and nuances he puts in his work.

wow.. as a korean, i know there is missing meanings in the trans, but didn't know this much. how thankful naturally i understanding that nuances in verses... that im fine performance is not that good camera work. (but it has good sound and video quality.) it's more complicated and fast but it didn't seem that well! i recommend another live perf/
