The Rock The Nation World Tour was a concert tour by the hard rock group Kiss. Poison was the opening band. The tour marked the return of Eric Singer on the drums who once again replaced Peter Criss whose contract was not renewed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The tour was not very successful, as it grossed only $20.3 million in 58 shows. Poor ticket sales in America halted Kiss from a tour they were planning for 2005; however, ticket sales were strong in Australia, Japan and Mexico. Kiss sold only 49% of available tickets in America, with an average show gross of $304,417.
During this tour, the setlist was not as 1970's exclusive as it had been on their last few tours as Kiss played songs that spanned their entire career. This also included performing a few selections from their non-makeup era, songs the band have generally shied away from playing since returning to wearing their makeup in 1996. After this tour however, most of those songs would again be shelved and to date with the exception of "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II" and "Lick it Up" they have not reappeared. The band released a two-disc DVD of this tour.

Lead guitarist here is Tommy Thayer who took over when Ace left after the Farewell Tour and has worked a lot behind the scenes with Kiss since around the early 90s. He's been with Kiss playing ever since.

They put on the best show of any band out there. They paved the way for everyone else, and they kept it up for decades. I was a member of the Kiss Army from the age of 13. My mom would take me to see them every time they came to our town. As we got older, then I would take her. She is almost 80 and I am in my late 50's, and we would go again at the drop of a hat.

Revenge, the album that Unholy is from, is pretty underrated and overlooked i'd say. It's actually a great album.

When KISS did "God Of Thunder" after Gene flew back down, they made his voice sound kinda more Demon (Some here might know what i'm talking about). Imagine if they did that to his voice when he flew back down for "Unholy"

I would like to think I have seen KISS more than anyone but probably not......... I am on #73 I have tickets for one more. I was trying to get to that big 100 but never will. This blood spitting routine is typically some where in the middle of the show as well as a guitar solo, and drum solo. Paul also in some shows flies over crowd to a small stage near back of venue for a song. Their live shows are truly unmatched by anyone. You should do a LIVE version of Rock n Roll All Night, that is the finale of the show, lot's of confetti, bombs, pyro, and other things going on. Thanks for doing KISS live versions.

I was front row centre for the Ottawa show on the Monster tour. Gene's flight rig malfunctioned, leaving him way up just underneath the podium for about ten seconds. Scary shit.

This was my and my best friends very first KISS tour in Adelaide, South Australia.. we were lucky enough to be the second concert of the first leg of their world tour. I was 19 at the time, I'll be 40 next birthday and my love for KISS has only gotten stronger. Since that first concert back in 2004 I've been lucky enough to see them 13 more times including 8 out of their 9 Australian End of the road concerts in Aug/Sept this year and yes my friend who was with me at the very first show in Adelaide was rocking out with me for the very last.

The fathers of Rock and Roll YEAH. BTW they had hovering platforms even back in 1977 (maybe even earlier) I saw them in Dortmund back in 1980 (and i drove there with my 1968 VW Beetle). Back then a ticket was (if I remember right) about 20 Deutschmarks (so about 10 dollars!) and believe it or not, the supporting band at this concert was a band hardly anyone knew back then. They were called Iron Maiden... damn I'm old! Greets from Germany and keep on rockin!

I have had the pleasure of being dripped on by Gene in the 80's. It was the thrill of a lifetime, believe it. He's truly amazing live. Everyone was so captivated by him. As a bass player, he's great too.

Unholy never quite works live...you have to hear the studio version or watch the official video. But a killer, killer metal tune and one of their best.
