This slowly became one of my favorites from this album. I still love Rats, Faith, and Miasma, but this made it's way up there with them. Dance Macabre is still fun to listen to, but Witch Image is just an awesome track. 🤘

Yes. You're right. Tobias never believed in it. But radio stations began play it and the fans really loved it so in the end he had no choice then to start playing it live. Fantastic song that is not your favorite on the first listen but it grows for every listening and now i just crank the volume up when it comes up 🤘 Ooh, almost forgot. There song is about the grim reaper coming to collect the debt i was talking about in Pro Memoria. (What's you sold you can not unsell). The song also have the fantastic lyric "while you sleep in earthly delight someones flesh is rotting tonight. Makes you think 🤔

Don't ever feel bad for promoting your band. We're all on KZfaq here; do you know how many times we've heard promos on other channels about VPNs, meal prep delivery services, and bad mobile games?? Hearing about your band instead is a breath of fresh air, lol Idea to consider: Its quite possible that this might just naturally play out as you go through the rest of their catalogue anyway (especially since it sounds like you'll circle back to bonus tracks/covers afterwards), but I like hearing about how you've taken to the albums once you've had time to hear them in their complete, 'intended' form. I think what could make an interesting video is kind of a recap/update thing where you let us know how it all sits with you after you've completed the main albums and had time to properly digest them.

At first, this is one of the songs on the album that I honestly didn't really pay much attention to, but the more I listened to the entire album, the more this song has stuck with me. Now it's one of my favorites. :) That's a thing I've noticed with Ghost...I'm a newer fan (I just recently got into them within the last couple of months), and there have been a couple of songs where at first I'm like 'eh, not a fan of that one'...'Twenties', mostly.... but then the more I listen, the more I like the song to the point where said song eventually becomes a favorite. That is a good thing for a band, because it means the songs have deeper meanings and something beneath the surface that pops out upon repeated listens. :)

I think this track needs this type of solo. This song really have this album a unique feel for me. This song helped me connect this album more with ghost. This song felt spooky and dark to me. The first half of the album felt like something else. More hard rock ghost(which I really like now). This songs small solo reminds me of genesis.

This song took a while to grow on me too, but it's a favourite now. It's got the lyrics that Pro Memoria should have had in its chorus. We need these reminders in our culture that likes to pretend that death doesn't happen, and that we're all immortal... until we're not. The timing of this album, all about the Black Plague, and mortality in general, was... interesting, to say the least, being released not even 2 years before the first major pandemic in over a century. I personally sweated through a bad case of Covid, in and out of delerium, with this album on repeat. It was strangely comforting, in an existential sort of way.

Check out the lyrics and give this one a couple more listens, think it'll grow on you. I always skip Pro Memoria, but I can always go for Witch Image. Strung together Dance Macabre into Witch Image into Life Eternal are perfect songs to wrap up this album.

Since you mentioned liking a good mix of shred and melody, may I recommend Rest in Peace by the band Extreme? They're an older band now but I recently discovered them and I am in love with their third album

I always thought Pro Memoria, witch image and life eternal told a story. In Pro Memoria lucifer is feeding somebody's paranoia about dying by constantly whispering to them don't forget you'll die don't forget about death tricking the person into selling their soul. Witch image the person now immortal meets somebody who they love and when they realize that they will have to watch that person eventually die they try to buy their soul back and they are told what you've done you can't undo and then later in the lyrics what you sold you cannot unsell and by the time you get to life eternal which could be decades or hundreds of years later they are asking if they can hear them when they say their name and that even after all that time passing they still love them and remember them and if they were immortal too they would always be together. Or maybe I'm just an old romantic at heart, who knows.

You should do Helvetesfönster and life Eternal as a double.. They are melting together and you should really get that experience from the first listen and not chop them.

I'm obsessed with Ghost. I know every song, every album and Zenith. So is my wife. But as I've told her, Prequel is my least favorite. I won't dog on Ghost cuz it's against my religion, lol, but Prequel is at the bottom. Impera will fix any doubts. The best new Ghost!

To me, this song is good but not quite great. I may listen to it every now and again but it's not getting nearly as much playtime as Faith or even Miasma. I cannot wait for you to get to Impera. It's probably my top Ghost album right now
