The one of the most impressive things is that the singer Jari lost half of a lung due to tuberculosis from his military days. And still has that range and control of vocals. The man is a genius

Thank you for reacting to Wintersun. It is the dream brought to fruition of Jari Mäenpää (seen here as lead singer/guitarist). Wonderful to see someone listen to this who really 'feels' it. The song Time, from the same rehearsal is also epic. Personally I like it even better but just my taste (slightly shorter lol).

I'm getting old, this song already have 10 years. I feel like it was yesterday. One of my old favourite bands. By the way the singer don't have a part of a lung, amazing singer.

Fun fact: the drummer, Kai Hahto, has been the drummer for Nightwish since 2015 on all recordings and tours. The original drummer, Jukka Nevalainen, was the drummer you’ve seen during the Wacken 2013 show but had to step down due to medical reasons and asked Kai to replace him in 2015. So you’ve seen Kai drum for Nightwish in Wembley (2015) and Buenos Aires (2018). This bassist, Jukka Koskinem, has also joined Nightwish this past year to replace Marko Hietala as a session player for touring. Nothing official has been announced as a full member.

Kai Hahto said “After the rehearsals (Endless forms most beautiful album by Nightwish), my muscles ached like hell. We had played for hours and I realized that playing with Nightwish was much more physical than with some other bands. With Wintersun, for example, I didn’t have to move my arms so much. Fortunately, I realized early on that if I’d start banging like a maniac right from the get-go, I’d be dead by mid-set”. The bassist is the current bassist of Nightwish, after Marco left the band. Wintersun is a great band. Jari the singer of Wintersun was the singer of Ensiferum, another great band from Finland.

Such great musicians! Finland has more metal bands per capita than anywhere else in the world.

A Boss AC-3 accoustic simulator pedal will give you that exact sound. I also found that a two band compressor with a lot of comp on the high end and less on the low will do it too if you set the crossover freq just right. Great reaction bro, this stuff rips

Piezo bridges, they work like individual magnets under each string near the bottom point of tying them....often used on accoustic guitars as mic. Guessing used in an electric guitar it gives a better sound than the magnets specially without distortion.

Bear in mind that Kai has added 5 extra toms for the latest Nightwish album especially track called Tribal and he is naturally left handed but plays a right handed kit with additional false high hat. If you listen to Nightwish playing The Islander at Tampere 2015, Marko plays a twin neck with acoustic sounding six string.
