Madonna is the biggest selling female singer of all time (350 million albums sold to date). It's interesting that there are so many haters out there these days. People are threatened by her social justice stances, I believe (embracing the LGBTQ+ community, women and people of color). Ageism is also at play. Her impact is visible in almost all of the female pop artists today. Love your reaction.

Yes, please do more Madonna. I'm not sure if you have already, but reacting to some of her live performances (there are some bad quality and some professionally done, so choose wisely) after you watch/listen to her music videos. She, possibly more than even the late king MJ, starting in the 1990's, changed the way music concerts and music videos are done. They're now as much about the performance as they are the music.

The song is an analogy to the stage/acting. She thought it was real, but his love was just an act (a masquerade). That's why (IMO) this song is so amazing. It lyrically tells the story through that analogy.

This video is comparing a relationship to a bull fight when one person loves more than the other. He puts on a show, plays with her, riles her up, then sticks it to her and finally kills her love/heart. Like the bull fighter does to a bull. Usually men that put on a facade are narcissistic and deep down they are insecure and lonely. Madonnas voice is so rich in her lower register. Baby Face is the back-up singer in this song with the higher register. Btw, I just went to her Celebration tour in Detroit. She looks fantastic! Her show was the sht! Shes not loosing it or crazy. She's got it going on.
