It was not an effect on Aaron voice...it was harmonization. He basically recorded his own voice in different octaves, thirds, and fifths to embellish some parts - a much welcomed addition to their catalogue I must say. It was a breath of much needed fresh air.

Whatever people label my dying bride as rather it’s doom metal or gothic metal it doesn’t matter to me they’ve been my favorite band for the past 10 years now. Great song can’t wait for the album!

10 years ago was more or less the period where I almost completely lost touch with MDB, to the point I don't even know who plays in the band anymore. Last album I bought was Map of All Our Failures. But this song is strong, and it makes me impatient to listen to the album!

It does matter to me. Labels can butcher the quality of the music, if that's for the sake of some petty profit margin. They'll cut up all of what they consider to be "unnecessary", while keeping the parts of the song that are the "most catchy" and have the highest chance to lure in the most quantitative audience. Although, there are labels out there, such as Peaceville Records or Prophecy Productions, that allows an artist to keep their creativity at its highest level. In all seriousness, however, no artist, whether that be a musician, a painter, or whatever else, should be treating their creative self as their way to make income. I wish this world would go back to the days when we could discern the impractical from the practical. Art is not money-making, making it impractical. Treat it as your passion, while having a practical, labor-intensive job to go to for bills to be paid.

I can't realy decide if My Dying Bride or Paradise Lost are my favorite band. ^^ My one criticism of Thornwyck Hyme is that hus voice could be a bit louder. As for Aarons voice on Ghost of Orion, as far as i remember the interviews, it wasn't Aarons idea to layer it but Andrews. Aaron also said he didn't liked the recording process, because he had to sing every song four times.

Love the band lifelong fan but I dunno not that impressed it's got all the trademark sounds and everything but it's just lacking a memorable melody a dark atmosphere the things that I loved about there earlier works creativity this is my dying bride on auto pilot
