43 yo manly man. Alanis ranks up with RATM, Rush, Metallica and Sublime as my favourite artists/bands. She just has everything I look for in music. The context of when this album was released is also an important factor to who she is/was as an artist. Alanis Morrisette... the queen of the 90's pop rock scene. Literally every female (and it's not really limited to gals) who was a teen or older at the time LOVED Alanis Morrisette, ond for good reason! She was like the next Janis Joplin or Tina Turner... she was the voice for a generation who wanted to be heard. Having heard this song quite a few times, I never knew Dave and Flea played on it... actually dope. (And as others have pointed out, the drummer bring Pre-Foo Taylor Hawkins is ALSO sick as hell!) My dude said, "I love when artists throw in lyrics that are shocking (bizarre)" and Alanis immediately drops an F bomb 😄😄😆😆 I feel like I had heard the story about Dave Coulier but if that's true.... wow. What a connection... That Full House intro 😆😆🤣🤣 Gotta love those old 90's sitcom intros! This was an awesome reaction, your coworker is awesome, ya love to see it!

Yeah, you don't know how out-of-left-field this was when it came out. This girl pulled no punches with her lyrics and most of the songs on the record are just great, and the few that aren't great are still solid. I was in high school when this came out and even though I was a huge Metalhead I just loved it and listened to it front to back all the time. It really changed my views on music and made me really aware for the first time of how a female p.o.v. could be as edgy as anything the dudes I admired at the time could do, and how that female p.o.v. could certainly go way beyond simply the lyrics and bleed over the music itself, if that makes sense. To this day, a coupe of times a year, I give the whole record a listen and enjoy every minute of it. She's a really unique artist.

You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket and Ironic are her top 3 songs in 90s, not just an opinion. It's worth it to go down that rabbit hole portal. It will take you to the 90s when bands were trying to figure things out where to go next. a decade of "one hit wonders".. Alanis broke through and stood out.

The bass lines in this song though... Pure awesomeness. That's what happens when you hire Flea to do your bass parts lol. It's zero wonder James got on you to listen to this one since he plays bass.

Born in 71. Total 80's metalhead. This song is great. So, she was literally on Nickelodeon in the show You Can't Do That On Television. Then she hit music... i was a senior in college when this dropped, and I was like "no way!" As an 80's metalhead, she has some good tunes.. but I remember her, and good for her!

Welcome to the world of Alanis. 😊 Her songs are full of amazing lyrics - I don't usually pay much attention to lyrics, so they are quite something. And the feeling she has on her voice is special. The whole Jagged Little Pill album is definitely worth listening to.👍

Jagged Little Pill, as previously commented, was indeed masterful. I also feel though, that subsequent albums are underrated. Check out Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie - Front Row, Baba, and Thank U (among a ton of other tracks). Under Rug Swept - 21 Things I Want in a Lover, Hands Clean, So Unsexy, Flinch, Narcissus, That Particular Time So-Called Chaos - 8 Easy Steps, So-Called Chaos, Spineless, Everything Feast on Scraps ...I mean, I love her so I could just name every one of her albums...

For young females growing up in the 90s Alanis was like our voice. She allowed us to be pissed off and explicit and tell everybody to go f*** themselves because we had power. We will always owe her for that.

I grew up with her, my mother LOVED her and she would blast it all the time. I have a very distinct memory of us screaming this at the top of our lungs driving home from one of my visitation visits with my dad. *Gotta love the 90s 🤣 I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Much love from Arizona ❤️❤️

I usually like reactions done by musicians, as they give their professional opinions and point of view. "normal" people , in general, don't really grabs my interest. But....Alex is amazing. The level of charisma you got man. The right on point and genuine comments. You got a fan here!!!

This song always brings me back to my childhood. I was 12 goin onto 13 and was very attracted to Alanis. As many have stated, you can't really go wrong with the album of Jagged Little Pill. So many good hits on there. Little tidbit of info: she played God in the movie Dogma, featuring Jay and Silent Bob. It was awesome and hilarious to see that. Hilarious and great movie as well I'd highly recommend checking out with your fiance if you haven't seen it already.

Alanis is from my hometown. Most people my age have an Alanis Morrissette story....She used to go around singing at local events and such before she got famous for singing and one time she came to our cubscout meeting and sang O Canada. I was probably 6 or 7.. she was probably 16ish. I thought she said her name was Atlantis, like the lost sunken city. If you react to "Check the O.R" by Organized Rhyme I'll tell you my Tom Green stories.
