Especially since the concert was held on Sept 28th. Last time I checked, September comes before December on the calendar. So, again, as I said, the USSR hadn't fallen until AFTER the concert happened. Please, do tell me where I said anything about it being "a desperate attempt by the Soviet regime" in my comment. I'm not seeing it, no matter how hard I look. Yes, I'd heard from ones that it was a "thank you" concert. It makes a lot of sense that it would be since it was the rioting people at the coup attempt that caused it to fail. It also was held shortly after the attempt. That's why, hearing it was a "thank you" to the citizens is more likely than it just being a random concert. Especially since it was the largest ever allowed. I have never found any evidence to the contrary, anywhere. Unless, and until I do find evidence to contradict what I had been told, that's what I'll state. "Oh," and no, there'd never been a "Monsters of Rock" festival in the USSR before. They'd had other festivals and concerts called other things, but there'd never been such a major concert allowed before. And never had there been one called the "Monsters of Rock." I haven't been able to find any evidence, whatsoever, that the "Monsters of Rock" festival was ever held in the USSR prior to 1991. Everything I've been able to find says that it was the 1st time that that festival had ever been held there. So, please. Do tell me what "B.S." you're referring to in my comment, specifically. And please, provide evidence that what I said was in fact wrong. You just saying what I said was wrong doesn't make it true. I expect links to reputable sources, such as I provided.

I loved her reaction to the two big 60's social commentary songs- "The Year 2525' and "Eve Of Destruction" that have caught fire here with these reactors.lately. Tony had heard 2525, and was so patient, as he nursed her through, multiple pauses, so she could clarify what the lyrics just went by her, and digest them. He had that devious grin on his face, as he would ask her; "are you ready to continue". She gutted it out, and actually loved the music part of it. The lyrics and social messages for the female part of these two person reactor teams, really were aghast at the images shown during the videos, as well as the messages. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't just the females, their were plenty of males with these reactor teams, that needed it stopped to digest what they were hearing and seeing. Both songs came out in the mid-late 60's. Both artists were one hit wonders.

@@antonytheolddog8626 I will listen to some of there stuff, I will always be a rocker, I come from Nottingham we have a big rock place rock city there which was our weekend hang out for bands or just music. We had an alternative clothes shop called void where we got our clothes some very similar to floors I was tall and thin then so I could do it. I miss my youth but I enjoyed it. Keep rocking😃😃

NOPE... it was 1.6 million in attendance over the course of the 3-day long festival. The official title was "The Monsters of Rock" Festival and it was hosted by MTV (for their channel)... that's why it was a free concert. Even though it was free to concert goers... MTV made huge money off it. Just sharing. Peace and light...💞

Well, the military was there to keep the people in control. Of course there were medics all around, but they also needed the military, because so many people are difficult to keep under control. And they didn't have the experience. Especially at a rock concert that big.

It was free. A concert for the people. It was a festival with more metal and hard rock bands.
