Always hated he had to leave, for himself and his other creative ideas/outlets that he wanted to stretch out and to pursue, but I always understood. If James and Lars would have just let him pursue his side projects/bands, instead of being so f***ing selfish, then he would probably still be with the band even to this very day. I always loved his band he had put together, Newsted, and still own their EP and their album that they released, but hated that he didn't stretch it out a little longer with that particular band, and make another album. Never will forget seeing Jason on That Metal Show one night back in 2013, I believe it was, and they aired a portion of the video for Soldierhead...that automatically had me hooked right there! I went out the next day, and picked up the album. Good times back then. If I remember correctly, Jason was pretty much paying for anything that Newsted was doing/playing, in terms of expenses, and travel, so it most definitely was not feasible and financially sound, as he stated that he was just doing it out of the love for the music, so again, I get it, but they/the band were awesome though.
