Look at how clean and perfect he plays those riffs. The best rhythm guitarist in metal.

this is the original metallica! james : riff & lyrics lars : drums and arrangement kirk : guitar solo robb : waiting for them to finish song and teach him how to play.
@F35020008 жыл бұрын
You mean teach him how to make his bass silent on their records...Listen to Infectious Grooves and say Rob needs to be taught how to play.
@metpach8 жыл бұрын
+The Great Gazoo that's a completely different style of music, Even Cliff was buried underneath all of James and Kirk's layered guitar parts and they use a ton of distortion, that's how it's always been. But if you took all the bass out you'd definitely notice. It sound like and justice
@ugie88518 жыл бұрын
The Great Gazoo not "how to play the bass". just "how to play the song". Joe Pachicano got it right. that is their style and their genre. like in their 1st 4 album. bass might not be the loudest sound but you will notice if its not there. then bob rock come along, and bass got into the pictures. it got more prominent. until death magnetic album. lars take back his throne to take over metallica train.
@F35020008 жыл бұрын
+ugie88 My point is there is not much creativity being allowed in the music for the bass. How many times do you think Bill Ward and Tony Iommi brought Geezer in to teach him to play their song? My guess...never. Rob is an unreal talented player, he is just there in this band. My mind sees Metallica able to write badass music if Rob is able to be Rob.
@ugie88518 жыл бұрын
The Great Gazoo not much creativity allowed for bass? you heard anesthesia (pulling teeth)? Orion? thats bass right there. by cliff. he earned it. jason not earn it. rob maybe not yet or maybe hes there. what i said is, if Rob is contributing, then he's there. maybe rob contribute nothing for this song. and for what he need to be there other than recording? do you have a band? if you do, you'll understand. a singer doesnt have to be there other than recording, and writing lyrics. some people have this attitude that the riff is my area, and nobody is allowed to talk about it. for singer, he write the lyrics, nobody is allowed to interrupt his writing. you have to understand this is metallica. with lars mofo ulrich. he's driving the train now. not bob rock anymore. i'm not taking away anything from rob, hes great bass player. same as "nothing else matter". james wrote the song. then bring kirk to learn the song.

it always amazes me how Metallica produces records every single one of them. The structure is like a drug or something, it hooks you up instantly, the signature sound. Yet so many people are criticizing this and that, oh the wah, Lars doesn't play, oh Kirk you know hes old and sloppy, oh Trujillo doesn't fit the band. I firmly believe that haters are just structured musicians, academic, like Stewart Copeland said in a recent interview, they won't teach you in college how to connect with people no matter what. Music is not about notes or high pitches or any of that stuff, it is about connecting and Metallica is probably one of the best at that.
@cooper52202 жыл бұрын
Trujilo doesn't fit the band. I haven't liked anything after the black album except a few on load. The main problem with recent albums is the sound is shit not thier writing style. They've got that down to an art.

@@Metallicafan.kirkhammet Overall it's a decent album, but I'm more attached to single tracks than it as an album. I'd rather jam Spit out the Bone, Halo on Fire, and Dream No More in a playlist than listen to the album as a whole because a lot of songs are kinda bloated riff-fests. Tbh modern metallica needs a producer to crack the whip and trim the fat on these 70 minute albums lol. Both Hardwired and 72 Seasons.

His justice era drum set had an auxiliary high hat instead of a ride cymbal. When he switched to his load/reload/S&M era kit he did use a legit ride under his china cymbal but he went back to just a china when he switched to his current set up.

@Bluesruse8 жыл бұрын
+Juventin Death Magnetic had one decent solo that I can recall and it's pretty much a nostalgia ripoff... James' solo beats Kirk's on that album lol...

So true what James said when someone said to him the phrase "hardwired to self destruct" and it stuck with him, we are all hardwired to self destruct but we are all trying to not go down that path even though we may be programmed to be....

they should go to Fleming Ramussen to produce again to take back the oldschool glory
@jamesb19887 жыл бұрын
Flemming did whatever they wanted him to do unfortunately, no way AJFA gets released with that mixing otherwise. Now Flemming's tones with Bob Rock's producing? Now that I could get on board with.
