It was, it was supposed to be the instrumental song on the Black album like Live is to Die was on ..Justice, but unfortunately James decided to change that? It's unfortunate that Jason was always on the outside looking in & never got the love he should have!! All these years later- God we miss him

@@bt3743 You know thats not even what he's talking about right? This song was written by Jason as an instrumental, and was intended to be played that way. But the powers that be decided it needed the full treatment, including vocals. It still ended up being an awesome song, but would have been nice if the instrumental was included as an extra track.

Jason wasn't just Metallica's Bass Player, he was their biggest fan, the one who continued the legacy of Cliff. But they threw it all away because he wasn't Cliff. Imagine how angry Cliff would be at James, kirk and Lars if he knew how badly they treated Jason.

Anyone know how to get this tone? I have a Schecter Stiletto Stealth 4 that came with a p pickup in the neck position and a mm pickup in the bridge position. Sounds like his mids and highs are boosted while his lows are cut, with a little bit of chorus and compression and more neck pickup in the blend than the bridge one. But he's also using his Alembic Spoiler here, which from what I can tell, had 2 soapbars and what appears to be a flush mounted jazz pickup in the middle? I've messed around with my preamp's 7 band eq but I'm still not quite getting that clear pronounced tone his open A is making.

A pesar de que Jason es un excelente bajista, no puedo soportar el sonido de la púa al chocar con la cuerda, tal vez en canciones más ligeras esta bien, pero en canciones tan profundas, prefiero mil veces el sonido de los dedos.
