No matter how amazing a song is that Metallica releases you’ll hear All the damn “Keith’s” out there saying “it’s not as good as the first 4 albums” they will never sound like that again. It’s a completely different sound that can’t be compared to the early stuff. and if they tried to sound like they did 30-40 years ago it would just sound forced. I’m super excited for the new album!

It's not Metallica fans shitting on Metallica, it's metal fans that abandoned them in 1991 (or ex-Metallica fans). I didn't like Load/Reload/St.Anger and I stopped listening to those albums at that point, but I never hated them for trying something different, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I have really enjoyed their last three releases, however, and I've been back on board since then.

The Metallica we all know and love! Sounds a lot like Death Magnetic and I dig it.

I like this one a lot more than the first, a bit more intent from James vocals, love the bass sound which drove the song. Has a Load album vibe which I wasn’t a fan of, but enjoyed this far more.

The last two Metallica songs that came out prove something to me. Kiss and Metallica have something in common: a demonic appearance but good messages in their music. Lux Æterna: Thrash bop that tells you to find welcome community through music. Screaming Suicide: Terrifying name with metal sound that tells you that talking about your feelings is good, actually.

This and Luz Aeterna aren't too bad. I don't expect them to be the Metallica of old. James voice has held the strongest throughout Metallica's career. When this came out, I was hoping to see you react to Lovebites 1st release from their upcoming album, the title track/official music video to "Judgement Day". I remember you telling me a year or so ago when you reacted to "Winds of Transylvania", which you love, that when I requested an older song of theirs you stated you generally react to new stuff.

I dig this new tune and Lux Æterna because they were different, but with the same great production quality. Lux had that “Kill Em All”-style energy, while this had that “Load”-style drive to it. Definitely looking forward to the new album! Great reaction as always, boys!

There hasnt been a metallica song i dont like tbh, Metallica doesnt have to sound like MoP or RTL to sound good, the different sounds/eras of Metallica are great in their own rights (yes i actually really enjoy the St Anger album lol) this new album is shaping up to be great too and im so keen for it!

That solo gave me NOFX vibes which felt strange. Especially the way it was mixed in.

Just for the records, the real fans don’t whine or bitch, I’ve been a Metallica fan my entire life and I’ve never ever turned my back on them, for all the heaters out there saying, oh I’m a fan of old Metallica, well I got news for you, there is no old or new Metallica, it is Metallica, either love them or hate them, Metallica has been around for so long, and they do the music they want, if you like it welcome, if not, well, hahahahaha, those who criticize will never be happy even if they make another master of puppets, there will something to bitch about, Taking into account cliff’s lost Metallica has managed to Survive, and yes they are filthy rich, but they do help And give back to community. I agree with what you said Johnny, but the reason why they dropped off a bit for me was due to the QUALITY of their music. I wouldn't care if these dudes sounded like Alien Ant Farm, I'd give zero fucks LOL. But the quality has to be there & everybody has different standards when it comes to quality.

I understand Metallica is not like of old, but if they are experimenting with past, why not use the killer sound they had during AJFA days or something similar. This sound is lame, especially for a topic of suicide. I grew up with Metallica and still enjoy their music, but this seems to generic and bland. You know who else is old like Metallica but produce better music? Testament, Kreator, Metal Church, Exodus, Iron Maiden, Overkill. They should’ve went back to Fleming Rasmussen as producer. I remember Metallica channeled the pain but now they are too happy for Metal, but good enough for Hard Rock, which is fine… - Metallica Fan Since 85.

Its a grower tho pretty basic middle riff from known riff masters. Uninspiring lead break from Hammett who can deliver much better & Ulrich's incessant high-hat is counting is annoying tho something he seems to be doing a lot in recent songs? Passible but b-side. I hope the rest of the album delivers more technical riffs, arrangments & lead work.
