That BASS is spectacular

This makes me more pumped for April 14th and this new album. This is groovy, the song lyrics are incredible and it’s just so potent. Groovy and extremely catchy, accept that it won’t go back to the old days, but this is 🔥🔥 40 years into their career and lives!! #METALLICA I also feel that Kirks solo really fit the song, almost how Mark Tremonti plays his solos. Sometimes they just have to blend perfectly to a song and not be over the top, I think it’s brilliant

Trujillo is and has always had a sledgehammer sound. Mesa Boogie and a HI Watt. With Suicidal and Infectious Grooves Rob was and still is a stone cold killer. Total Garage Inc. vibe.

Best thing for Tallica was the Covid years - it allowed them to rest so they all sound incredible now

This one is better then Lux as far as i am concerned the riffs are tight the bass shines though finally and the drums are on point and James really showed hes still got it! Lets not forget the message that is not to be forgotten here! Such a stellar tune!

The main riff is reminiscent of Hate Train. Also the way Kirk starts the solo over that riff is similar to how he starts the Hate Train intro solo.

At first I didn't like it. But now it feels really really great. James voice is again the GOD METAL voice ever and takes this song and band into greatness. But also the arrangements are made close to perfection

Kirks' solos of late are lacking and he said why a couple of years ago. On the Black album, he WROTE the solos. He wrote and played numerous solos for each song them cobbled the bits he liked together from each and came up with KILLER music. Nowadays, in his own words, he "turns up to the session and improvises over what J and L have recorded"... He said if he has no input into the songs themselves, he's not gonna put effort into the solos. And I think that's a fair point... Metallica is J and L with K and R studio ring-ins that go on the road to fill the roll of bass and lead git.

It's a cross between kill em all, load, garage inc, and Death Magnetic

It sounds a lot like Rebel of Babylon. Especially the solo. The singing on this song might sound a bit different cause it's tuned to E flat. Lux was in standard tuning. Go listen to Rebel of Babylon off "beyond magnetic" and it sounds very similar in certain parts. EDIT: You can play this song in standard tuning or e flat cause there's no open strings and the key can be either F# or G. Either way sounds the same. That verse riff though and then the pre chorus are awesome in this song.

I just learned this song in like 5 minutes on guitar. I've been a Metallica fan for years so I kind of know their formula and the chords they use. My favorite part is the verse and the "listen well better listen well". The solo on this and lux are kind of just basic. He isn't into the AJFA map it all out. He's just improvising now cause when you get older you just don't care to play flashy solos imo. Same for me. I'd rather improvise a solo and have the feel there rather than mapping it out.

Huge metallica fan but compare this new stuff to Master and justice and it pales in comparison. Iron Maiden left them in the dust years ago.

I don't know what worse Metallica new music or Axle rose singing. They keep writing new songs and then when they go to play live, they play what the fans want which is there old songs.

This is straight up generic as hell and the only reason everyone is like "oh my God this is the best thing ever" is because it's metallica. Branding is everything if any other band would of wrote this song no one would of gave it a second thought. Not good I would expect a lot better from these gods of thrash. They should take a page from Slayers book. But at least they were still good when they stopped.

THE MAIN RIFF IS BORROWED FROM THEIR ATLAS RISE VIDEO. It's the last riff Kirk plays in Atlas, about 20 seconds before the video ends.. Also, the beginning of Screaming Suicide borrows from the beginning of Here Comes Revenge.

I love Metallica. Have since I was a kid. Met them a couple times. Have a Met tattoo. I’m hardcore. They are my heroes…I think I’m qualified to say this: This song and the last one are both pretty garbage. Bland riffs, terrible song structure, awful mailed-in solos. Bass was cool but stuck in a bad song.

Kirk was Vanilla on this. Disappointing considering they haven't come out with an album since 2016

This song straight up sucks. There's some great sections that have good ideas and grooves but this is nothing like Lux Eterna. Lux gives you the power and feel of better older metallica. This one just kinda goes in one ear and out the other. I was soooooo hyped up with Lux. I hope there are more songs on the album like that than like this. The older faster riffs of the old metallica and megadeth stuff is where its at.
