Sichuan Province is a series where I build a city based on the Chinese city Chongqing. In this series, I aim to embed my own travel experience in China to create a highly detailed, functional and massive city in Cities Skylines.

PAUSE your game when you use MOVE IT. Frame could drop to zero for minutes under several circumstances.

I think everyone enjoys stacked and elevated networks! It's why Flux's Avalon is so fun, too. Our brains are so evolved to think in flat terms that any verticality feels really novel. I haven't gotten to experience much of it myself, Portland's light rail is almost entirely at-grade, so seeing the crazy photos out of Hong Kong and China really blows my mind. The elevated trains that just go straight through buildings is particularly delightful. I like to imagine living in an apartment and opening your door and just hopping straight on a train.

huh I wonder what part of hong Kong's rail has such cool bridges and verticality, and cool planning features. maybe its cuz I live in hong kong so I'm used to all of it and dont feel like its special.

The metro looks superb - I can’t even imagine how realistic it will look when everything else is detailed. I hope you do go level some of the tunnels out, though... it was a bit of a wild ride in the cinematics.

Lol. I also loved crashing through a few concrete walls and pillars, demolishing a passing ute and peaking out into the sunlight over the bridge. Laughing with, not at. A brilliant subway line in development through a truly remarkable city.

I'm not sure if this project has been dropped or what since it hasn't been updated in a while and the comments on Ep11 are disabled, but I just wanted to thank you for creating this! It kept me company while I was working the other day, and I found myself getting more and more distracted as time went by because I was just so delighted and fascinated by all the details added to the city in terms of aesthetics and genuineness. We all focus on perfect cities far too much. I loved how lived-in this one felt, and I loved how eager and honest you were about your research and excitement over the project. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Hi, just a friendly reminder, all Chongqing Metro station has installed platform edge doors (so as the monorail). There is an metro platform edge doors made by meshd is suitable in the city. Plus there is a type of Chinese metro , 南昌地铁, which is a suitable vehicle that can be used as your metro vehicle

@2:52 Wow that bridge brought instant memories from a trip to Istanbul a few years back. It looks almost exactly like the Golden Horn Metro Bridge, with the adjacent car bridge and everything. Very nice video too! I am enjoying the whole series very much! It is a pleasure to see you build and hear your reasoning, inspiring and relaxing at the same time :)

Yep, the pattern we enjoy. Rivers: clean blue *he wants to do them dirty yellow. CS KZfaqrs: focus on Western cities *he wants to do a Chinese city.

Recommend you to use Baidu Map for your project reference. Similar as google map, it also has a street view function that you can know more about the detail in a Chinese city. Hope it will be helpful for the project

there's a Chinese version of google map, but rest of the world will be wonky especially the border areas. that's due to the Chinese anti-spy stealing geographical accurate map data laws, and therefore the datum used for the map in china...

Connect the pink and purple lines, train always feel more real when they don’t go exterior for centre and terminate, but instead go exterior to exterior via the centre (it’s also more deficient in terms of the number of trains used, in cities and particuarly real life)

some people from Chongqing don't accept the concept of being a part of Sichuan province, even though it was before. Some of them might think it a bit rude to call them Sichuaner... And if you want more detail of the street view, try to use Baidu map. Baidu map is all in Chinese, that would be the difficulty for you... Anyway, the web address is www.baidu.com.

Maybe you could have some sort of high speed train service considering China's speedy trains. I'm not sure though as it may be unrealistic for the city you have based it on. Amazing video!

To be helpful, I think you can turn train tracks into metro tracks with MOM. Not sure but pretty sure it works.

Very interesting. I have been to the actual city 3 times now.. used it as a base to tour local areas. By the way it is pronounced Chon as in john and Ching as in Ka Ching!

You should be able to get to any part of the city in one transfer but you can’t do that with the purple line. If you’re on the purple line and want to get to the other side of the river/city you have to do multiple transfer

Hi I wonder if you can make another series of Chinese cities. I have seen the assets used by HooHeeHaa on KZfaq. Those assets look exactly the same as Chinese cities. I think maybe you can find a lot of them very useful.

Got any help for someone who wants to build something like you do? Like what to start with -small town, downtown etc- how to do road layouts and everything. How a city should be -train station here, subway there etc Nuclear power factory far away from the city, prison there, towns should look like this etc Been trying for a while but I keep failing Maybe a tutorial on this would be good

Fantastic work as always. Really love the elevations of roads and rails. Speaking of elevated path there is a picture of Chongqing that always strike me most. It is a picture of Caiyuanba Bridge some years ago and it juxtapose the modern elevated highways with traditional Bashu Architecture (Bashu is the ancient title of Sichuan and Chongqing region), the houses should have gone already but this image is still one of my big impression of Chongqing. here is a link to that picture: www.pinterest.de/pin/187814246939960207/

yeah right it's basically Sichuan, it's the same basin, it used to be Sichuan, and this is a sichuanese city based on chongqing.
