I was there that night and loud doesn't cover it. The sound was overwhelming. Sheer joy and gratitude pouring out. I'll never forget it.

I don't care what Cub fans think. They will not top this one! You can see it was a big help in telling the team they were behind the team. Forever, these guys get to reflect on something that so many players in MLB will not get to see. WHAT a memory this was!

I was there that night. This gives me goosebumps, and, as Steve Cannon would have said, “it brings a tear to the eye and a clutch to the throat.”

Metrodome Memorable Moment #2

This doesn't bring tears to my eyes, I am legitimately crying. I was 10 when this happened. I'll never forget this as long as I live along with the 1991 World Series. God I miss listening to the voice of the Twins Herb Carneal. Only John Gordon comes close in my opinion (for Twins announcers that is) Hopefully they keep it up this year and make a new memory in Target Field.

And KSTP(Ch 5) interupted the Monday Night Football Game that night for this welcome home. HOWEVER this was local and also came during the period of time where the NFL was using replacement players so no big loss.

Yup. During the brief strike/replacement players the NFL had I am sure had terrible ratings.

walked over after work wasnt an empty seat just stood in an aisle behind home plate..when that door opened it was louder than Motorhead. The Twins looked shocked at the size of the crowd, I think they were expecting a few thousand people.

9:46 Funny moment with Tom Kelly. I remember many put him down for being so serious in 1987!

Oh Tom Kelly is hilarious. Kind of a dry sense of humor but he’s hilarious

I don't think Twin fans cared about football at this point, replacement players or no.

The best thing, fans stole all of the toilet paper out of the restrooms to throw like confetti on to the field.

Did joe neikro at 18:20 reach into his pocket and toss out a nail file? That is pretty funny.

I think the players went there expecting like 15 to 20 thousand. So when they got there and saw a packed crowd of 54 thousand 😳

I forgot how at the end of games people would launch toilet paper from the top rows.

ny mets were suppose to easily win in 87. they had a better team than they did in 86, it was really shameful they didnt win
@jayNicks103 жыл бұрын
The Twins probably could have won that in 6. They way overpowered the Cardinals.
