However F1 is one of the few sports in which the journalists, the drivers, and everybody working there are like a really big family and they all like each other usually. For example Briatore had an excellent relationship with Lobato, the Spanish comentator, he even was at his side when he was extremely sad after what happened in the qualifying of Hungary 2007.

You can just see Kimi light up when he sees Montoya. Definitely a driver he respected. I guess it just hits differently when you see someone who was with you when you were still making a name for yourself.

Kimi was in his prime at McLaren. Insanely fast. Monaco 2005 qualifying was one of the greatest laps ever. He was never the same driver again at Ferrari despite winning the title in 2007. Montoya a CART winner and one hell of a driver. This is when F1 still had all these characters. I miss those days.

These two guys were billed as the fire and ice teammates in 2005 like Prost and senna. Shame they didn’t win the title but the MP4-20 was a fast and fragile car.

People are always amazed when they see Kimi smiling and talking, guess being a Finn, it makes sense. He is open and easy going with people he knows and trusts. He does not care for BS and waste of time stuff, especially media crap, go figure, i mean how trustworthy is media these days anyway, not very!

I started watching F1 because my Dad was enthralled with Montoya and his jump from Indy to F1. And Kimi became my favorite ever driver. Seeing the two of them together makes me so happy

Proof that Kimi is not monosyllable, he simply needs to have someone ask the pertinent questions as well as be knowledgeable of the topic at hand, JPM has got both points covered with aces. Very nice interview.
