Looking for a nature ROAD TRIP near Mexico City? Look no further! In this vlog, we visit Presa Iturbide in Estado de México. It's a beautiful reservoir just outside of Mexico City that feels like you're in a totally different area. The best part is that this spot is relatively unknown! Even by Mexico City locals!
It's the perfect road trip to escape the city!

My boyfriend and I have a golden retriever, Poe, and Poe gets so excited at dogs parks. In a year or so, my boyfriend plans to get his dog, so Poe can have a buddy. Growing up, I never just had one dog. I always had at least two and this is because dogs live and function best in packs. They are social creatures, just like us, and need another dog to talk to and play with. :) I really look forward to having a pack of dogs. I encourage you to consider it when you both are ready!

Wonderful video! Advice from a camping Canadian - you don't have to get into van life to enjoy nature. Get yourself some camping gear and head out to the mountains on the weekends. You can hike, make a nice dinner, have a camp fire, roast marshmallows, gaze at the stars, etc. When my wife and I lived in an apartment in downtown Vancouver, we had our tent, air mattress and sleeping bags ready and also a rubbermaid bucket with our camp stove and "kitchen" gear. All you have to do is beat the rush out of town. Enjoy!

Indeed, but camping at high elevation areas of Mexico is a bit difficult. A warm and bright afternoon transforms into a freezing night as soon as the sun disappears, so you just enjoy the campfire awhile and then hurry to the sleeping bags! I love these areas, anyway.
@Vancouver_Dan
@Vancouver_Dan 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sheilawisz It all starts with what Canadians call a toque (knit hat). Add in a puffy jacket, a fleece sweater, long johns, gloves, a thermal mattress and a climate sleeping bag. Oh and a camp chair so you don't sit on the ground. It sounds like a lot - but all the clothes can be squished into a small bag. Its fun!
@Sheilawisz
@Sheilawisz 2 жыл бұрын
@@Vancouver_Dan Thanks! I searched for images of what you said, and the puffer jacket is definitely a good idea for altitude camping here. There are beautiful forests in my area, and yet I have not camped in years because of the cold! What brand of sleeping bag and camping mattress do you recommend?
@Vancouver_Dan
@Vancouver_Dan 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sheilawisz I am not too brand loyal. I buy based on the temperature rating (for example, it will say the bag is best for 5 C to 15 C.) The mats depend on whether you are hiking or car camping. If we car camp we use a basic inflatable mattress - which, with a good sleeping bag is comfortable for 5 C and up. (I am not a winter camper but there are people who camp in the snow. That requires more technical equipment beyond my experience). You could search a Vancouver company "MEC" also known as Mountain Equipment Co-op to get ideas.

Not long ago I went to Valle de Bravo and Avandaro. Both are in Edo de Mex. and not a long drive from DF. Avandaro back in the day had a Woodstock type rock concert in the 70's. Huge, and after that no more concerts! However it's a nice laid back town with a lot of Europeans who have set up shop there with extreme sports a big thing. Valle de Bravo is a getaway from CDMX for many people who need to get away from the city and breath some fresh air. Have fun in your trips.

Im pretty sure I have been to that first area of the video. When I was in Mexico city I did a horse backriding tour and we stopped in a little village to have lunch. Looked just like it, about 45mins away in the hills

I really enjoyed your video too! I watched it during lunch hour :-) I was hoping you’d go to the Centro Ceremonial Otomi since you were so close, about 15 minutes driving. But maybe you didn’t have time or didn’t know about it - hopefully next time. Google Image the location :-) Also on your Centro Histórico from a few weeks back I wanted to say that I hope you see one day the Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernandez in Palacio de Bellas Artes. It’s an amazing show showcasing dances from across Mexico and from different points in its history. Before the pandemic they did it twice a week. With things opening back up slowly they may be open again but not sure. Highly highly recommend it!!!

I really enjoyed this video! You guys look so happy! Winnie is learning to snuggle 🥰 I started with one dog, then got a dog for her. They love each other so much!! Then I found a puppy on the street so now I have 3 lol 😂 in the morning they wake up and give each other kisses. It’s so sweet. The more the merrier. I think that doggie wants to join your family

Hahaha that's funny. I do actually think there are a few things he could learn from having another dog. We might really have to think about it. The doggie from this video was so adorable, however, I have a feeling she's quite happy and enjoys adopting families for their visits.

I’m so sad you did not take the dog… you kept talking about getting another dog. 😓 inwas waiting for the happy ending. Even if she gets fed by strangers…there is nothing for a dog like having a home and not living in danger. I always have to ask the locals if it has a family. Maybe ho back and if she’s there… adopt her considering you are already thinking about another one. 🙏
