Aviation cement is good stuff I use it quite a bit, sometimes people ask me what’s that stuff I tell them it keeps the oil from bleeding through the gaskets and if I could I’d put it on my toast in the morning, usually puts there mind at ease! Lol

Speaking of rubbish in the oil pan, I am a fan of bypass oil filters which I know are not original to the tractor. Here in the US Frantz oil filters have been made for years. They use a roll of cheap toilet paper for the element. The toilet paper is cheap compared to the brand name bypass filters on the market. The bypass filter uses a bit of the excess oil circulating in the engine to pass continuously through the filter. The spin on filters bypass unfiltered oil especially when they get a bit plugged up with age. My Dad had a '52 or 3 chevy pick up with a six cyl engine that did not have an OEM filter on the engine. A Fram bypass filter was fitted by some one. That old engine was splash lubed so no pump installed either. The Fram filter was a cartridge type. If you can find a Fram type filter, it would be period style for the engine. Thanks for the vids.

g day Dennis, I do remember those Franz dunny roll filters. They did a good job for sure. I wonder why they fell out of fashion.

G day Ian, we had cicadas in the back ground and 35k wind happening but I'm looking at moving the job out of the breeze but at 36deg C I'm loving g a bit of breeze. I do have some sound gear on order though.

Is cylinder 1 at top dead center when you are timing? When the key is straight up is piston 1 at TDC?

No tdc is different to injection timing go to www.queenslandtractorspares.com.au and download the manual from the technical section.

You replaced the timing cover because the old one was cracked right? Is that the only reason to replace one?
@BundyBearsShed2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is the only reason
