Hi Lance. Since it was my first time doing a Fergie TO20 head, I followed the dealership manual. In it they show the Ferguson tool they use and I made a copy. It is a punch tool with interchangeable bushings depending on which head you have, some guides are more shallow mounted than others. I cheated by starting with a long straight 5/16" punch from Harbor Freight then made the rest on the lathe. The book says to put the new guide on the tool first then push from the top down. The old guide makes sure the new one is going in straight. As I keep pushing the old guide falls out and the new one is in it's place. I keep going until my spacer ring bottoms out on the head and then it is perfect uniform height. I supported the head with 1" steel plates on each side. The tool works slick and eeezeee. I too am ready for the valve job but winter set in and I have no heat in the shed so it's all wrapped up for now. The engine block on the stand is in my house. It's the first thing you see when you walk in the front door. Maybe I should put Christmas lights on it!

G day Lance good work on the head mate. Do you ever warm up the head to remove the valve guides and freeze the new one to help with the removal and installation?

Were you using the Samsung audio there, then swapped out towards the end?
