Yasha decides to sacrifice himself and gives Asura his Mantra reactor to defeat Chakravartin, fueled with the energy of billions of humans, harvested over many, many generations (by prayer or sacrifice). He decides to fight Asura one last time before his Mantra completely runs out.
The mid battle flashback reminds me of Ultimate Ninja Storm.
The controls during the arial part are horrible. Last time I kept getting hit by that purple special move Yasha keeps spamming during the third round, this time I figured out its easy to dodge if you keep attacking him via arial dash.

Have to give Yasha credit. Going into that battle knowing it was his end allowed him to use his mantra affinity to its limit even with no reactor, just like Asura had been doing before. Melancholy indeed.

As well as testing to see if Asura was ready, Yasha wanted one last battle with him. He knew he was gonna die and that this would be it. That's why I believe he was smiling at the end. He knew Asura was ready and he had his last battle. You were always a brother. Never an enemy.

You can see the sadness in asura's eyes after yasha fades away, almost as if saying "Dont go, friend"... Y'know for a game about a very angry man, its emotional scenes literally BOMB me.

Also sitting by for thousands of years whilst they reaped the souls of billions of humans. His choices post rebelling against them weren't his foolish ones.

Willy Rimpel They really don't. Every other example was a fight between friends, or someone close to them, the overall fight meant something to the plot, or had a deeper meaning. Only time Vegeta & Goku fought were 1, when they were enemies. 2, Vegeta wanted to prove a point. Not really any emotion there at all.

Truly hated seeing Yasha die. Despite the things he allowed to happen, he had a good character arc and served as the ultimate bro in this battle to save the world. Seeing him go like this, all to ensure Asura had the power he needed to kill God is heartbreaking. Truly fitting for a God of Melancholy
