Some movie franchises can span decades but few can still be so highly regarded as the Australian car chase classic Mad Max and its sequels. With this being its 45th years since the first film was released and now with the fifth installment Furiosa, MFP will be discussing and reviewing this new installment into the Mad Max franchise.
MFP is proud to present its first movie spoiler free review of the newly released Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Enjoy

I've seen it twice already and liked it more the second time. I'll defiantly be watching it a few more times over the years.

It looks like they used quite a few assets that showed up in the game as well. I'm hoping to go see it this weekend with my brother

I'm into the Car chase and Post apocalypse genre. Fury Road was half Road Warrior, half chick flick. This was full chick flick. The CGI detracted from the movie and the story was a bit disjointed. Fury Road was far better.

For me Praetorian Jack character was epic. The Mad Max world is huge and out there most likley are many other badass characters just like Max.

I've just seen it yesterday and have to admit it's a really good film. I do agree with the points you make some scenes were a kind of "eh?" moment and oddly I thought it paid too much homage to the originals, I was hoping for more new stuff. The character Jack was exactly as you say "a Poundland Max" and really should have been done totally different thought the actor playing him was good he just should have been made different not a Max clone. The actors were very good and Anya and everyone put 100% into it so no complaints there. Personally though I would have left "Mad Max" out of it totally and it just be a story about the Wasteland. Overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone.

That cameo you mentioned stuck out like a sour thumb and seemed to be a bit of George self indulgence.

I haven't seen it yet, probably will eventually, but definitely not in a cinema AND when I'd have absolutely nothing else to do. I don't like "franchises", it's like skinning a fox one more time. Honestly, how many of Mad Max fans would choose any of the franchise over the original?
@AveragePicker
@AveragePicker Ай бұрын
What you are saying makes about as much sense as saying you only listen to a band's first album and that's it because anything else seems like skinning a fox more than once. Miller has been writer director producer for all the Mad Max movies. It's his "world." He's said he'd be happy to make Mad Max films for the rest of his life. It's his thing. This is not like a case of Disney milking Star Wars. Choose any of the others over the original? ...Uh...Yeah. I love the first one but I'd probably take Road Warrior over it, especially when I was younger and first saw the movies. But why do we have to choose any of the others over the original? We have all the ones he has made. If you don't want to see a movie, fine nobody is forcing you to but your "justification" is just nonsensical.

@@AveragePicker You can have your opinion and have all the right to tell it, so do I, there's no problem with it. But if you argue with me I'm going to defend my opinion, because I can. 🤭 1.) "saying you only listen to a band's first album" a.) Bad analogy, because band=director and I didn't say anything about the director. I was talking about a franchise where anything comes after the first movie's success is nothing just skinning the fox again and again and again. The analogy could be correct if the band'd play the same song's different variations and you prefer the original. b.) Bad analogy, because there are plenty of fans of plenty of bands who say their first album (earlier albums) was (were) better than the new ones. So, "your justification is just nonsensical". 2.) "Miller has been writer director producer for all the Mad Max movies. It's his world." True. So? It doesn't mean that ALL of his movies are great. Same thing with Lucas with SW, or Spielberg with Indiana Jones, or Wachowskis with Matrix. Just because it's their worlds, it ain't guarantee that all movies of the franchises are brilliant. Just because the original creator(s) made the new movie it won't automatically be as good and/or as revolutionizing as the original. So, "your justification is just nonsensical". 3.) "This is not like a case of Disney milking Star Wars." The prequels has nothing to do with Disney, it's - using your phrase - "Lucas' world". Still, those three are the worst of the franchise. And I bet my life that the main reason of making those movies was the studio's hope to milking SW again. Literally what my point against the thing called franchise. So, "your justification is just nonsensical". Alien, Predator, Shark, Rocky, Rambo, Psycho, Halloween, The Exorcist, The Omen, Ghostbusters, Transformers, Terminator, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist, Tremors, Jurassic Park, Friday the 13th, Scream, Karate Kid, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Hellraiser, Die Hard, Home Alone, Matrix, Saw, Fast & Furious... The way I see it, all of these franchise have something in common. There was a good idea, they made a good movie, but unfortunately they (mostly the studios) felt that they could make more money out of it, so they keep making movies with the same names, sadly with less and less value. I don't care how many views and/or money can franchises make. Only time could tell if any of them is a "classic" or a useless junk; I remember how everybody was drooling over The Phantom Menace back then and we know how it's treated today. When a movie is overhyped, lot of people (mostly "premier-junkies") want to see it and very few of them dare to admit (or worse, CANNOT realize it) that the movie wasn't THAT good (or downright bad). So they tell others how great that movie is and other go to see it, and the hype continues. IMO, Mad Max has joined that group. Many people talk about (and occasionally watch) Mad Max even today, and if I say "I'm a fuel injected suicide machine." or MFP, most of those people know what I'm talking about. Will "Fury Road" or "Furiosa" manage the same? I doubt. If you're disagree, let's come back to discuss it in 2069.

Saw it last night. It seemed to me that Miller was trying to stuff too much , too many stories into it. Im a big fan of this whole series but Fury Road was much better. We dont need anymore Furiosa stories.
