I want to add if anyone sees my first comment about the place, I got it on airbnb for only $68 before fees and it was beyond worth it. I could see it being a perfect airbnb. Would have paid easily 250-400 a night for that room.

Hmmm. Think thrice before buying a room in a hotel. A bunch of chains, like the W hotel chain, have been doing this for years. I read where a bunch of pro basketball players bought into rooms and ended up regretting it. There are all sorts of rules that apply. Often, your room is rented when you're not in it. Does that sound like a good thing? So a dozen years ago, a W Fort Lauderdale basic room was running about $250,000 to $300,000. I stayed over a period of years and the rooms became increasingly grungy and they never kept them up to the standard of the original build. And, they were just rooms, not suites, no kitchenette, nothing but a room and a balcony. And this particular property is built on a barrier island, now subject to massive scrutiny regarding subsidence and collapse, soon to likely require huge amounts of upkeep, so would you also be on the hook in any way for those costs for any ocean-side location?
