honestly I don't think they should bring back Lagiacrus and Dire Miralis unless they bring back the underwater combat. fighting Lagiacrus purely on land just isn't the same and I'm willing to bet the same would be true for Dire Miralis.

@@Eclipsed_Embers I mean, Dire doesn't do anything special underwater, just helps you hit parts like chest and wings.

@@magnabueno5360 I'll admit that I've never managed to actually fight Dire Miralis myself so I was just making an assumption there based on watching other people I will say though that I had a lot of fun fighting Lagiacrus, Royal Ludroth and Plesioth in 3U and it just makes me kind of sad whenever I fight one of those monsters in a land only battle. also Ceadeus is one of my favourite monsters of all time and that fight was completely underwater. my desire for underwater combat to return is made even stronger by the fact that there have been a few newer monsters (Namielle, Zamtrios, Somnacanth, ect) that I think would be a really good fit for underwater fights

@@102Mod Exactly, that's how I found out about it as well. Was fighting Gore in MH4U when I ate nulberries and it helped to suppress the frenzy. I think it's a pretty cool use for the berries.

Yep, it works. It cuts the amount your gauge has filled in half, so it's better to use Nulberries when you're closer to failure. On the flip side, an ability from Shagaru Magala's armor called Bloodlust is one of the best armor skills in the game. Whenever you engage in combat with a large monster, you automatically get a variant of the Frenzy Virus - one that slowly drains your health. However, you get a wide variety of bonuses while you have this special virus. With one rank, you get +10 raw attack, +5 element, and +5 status buildup. You also get the effects of Evade Window 1 and Constitution 1. Then, when you overcome the virus - which is much easier to do than against the one Gore and Shagaru inflict on you - you get an even bigger bonus to affinity than normal - +20% affinity for 60 seconds in the case of one rank. Finally, when you recover from the Virus, you automatically regain any red health. Having more ranks increases these bonuses, but you lose too much potential DPS by going for all three ranks. Since this skill inflicts a negative status ailment, you can combine it with Resuscitate (more attack if you have a status ailment) and Coalescence (more attack, element and status buildup when you recover from a status ailment). Indeed, Shagaru's armor set comes with 3 ranks in both skills.

Gore is still an Elder Dragon, it's just that it didn't reached adulthood, therefore, he's weaker.

I wonder if this was his first Gore ever. He didn't go aggressive when the frenzy was building, didn't spend much time attacking the head when Gore was frenzied, lots of first-time mistakes

@@nugget3687 Forgive me, but i'm still confused. How is he not an Elder Dragon if there are no other monsters (as far as i'm aware) that share the same form? Not saying as all, but class-wise (like Flying Wyverns, Brute Wyverns, Leviathans, etc.)

@@ulissesleal2002 Perhaps because it is juvenile stage of Shagaru Magala, that has yet to reach to its full potential, perhaps that's why Seregios can fight it during turf war and came up victorious

Everyone has their own tastes. Personally I find the combat fun. It's different than most modern action games since you can't just spam and dodge roll to win. In monster hunter combat is more methodical and when you attack, you are commited to the attack and if you fuck up it's your own fault. The core gameplay loop is fight monsters and use their parts to craft better gear to fight harder monsters. Pretty addicting imo. If you've tried the game and don't like it, no need to force yourself to. Might just not be for you.

I mean.. When you're constantly interacting with the monster, 20 mins can feel like 10. If mh were to have, let's say, a health bar, it would negate all tension of the fight. And what you said isn't even mostly true considering that monsters have physical signs of waning health. To each their own I suppose.

Well, saying that the monster shows nothing in terms of progress is sorta untrue since the monster can show exhaustion, flinch when parts are broken, and show when its going to die. Its more of the fact that fighting it can make you feel like you're overcoming an ordeal, going agisnt the odds Sorta like a man vs nature/david and Goliath kinda thing (The damage ratio being insane is more of a MH rise exclusive thing because of how mobile and op the hunter has become) I would like you to go more in depth with how it seems like the combat is going agaisnt you, personally I'm pretty interested to hearing your input.
