Honestly? Probably. Usually people break down the number of hits for sharpness 😂 which always made me feel jealous that I was garbage.

@@TyrynthBut i don't like knowing things too much like that when it comes to games, then they get stale for me. Knowing your hunt before it happens, will it make it fun for you? It makes for a good movie or video, for a good fantasy to think we could do, but eventually the game would become stale and predictable if you always did that The reason I fondly think back to RuneScape back in 2005 because it felt mysterious, a new game with few guides and such freedom and good community... Today everyone plays right down to the frames, good for them, but it makes the experience bad for me. Especially if developers change the game because of what few people can do or even try.... Many developers want us to play their way, "If you don't finish this 40 minute mission with exactly 5 seconds left before it runs out, you fail, if you finish it too early, you fail" That type of stupid nonsense.

​@@RSAgility yeah this is what ruined WoW classic for me. The use of third party website for parsing damage and gear score. People got extremely judgemental about those numbers, so God forbid you make any mistakes on any run. Low numbers? Need gear to get gear? This resembles real life too much- low credit score? Not enough cash? Stay poor. It can get toxic AF.

Its probably just due to garan's elemental arms being dmg multipliers

@@attn. several hits were directly to the head. It’s because strong arm buffs the next charged attack, with that next charged attack being a TCS you get numbers like 1447 on a body part with terrible hits zones (like when he hit Garan’s beck left leg).

@@Eclin Still takes a lot more knowledge of the monster due to the slowness of the weapon, and positioning due to the unforgiving long windups.

sounds like me, I cant control the GS, its way too slow for me. I am Hammer main and besides that some IG or LS, so GS or most shield weapons are too slow for me personally xd

I'm on switch cause I'm too poor for a pc and I just can't get the timing down for the counter at all, the monster always seems to be faster and I get hit out of it. The only thing I can think of is I suck and/or the frame difference between PC and switch is screwing me.

I did GS through the whole game and the worst part was really the early shitters like volvidon and bishaten. The endgame stuff was not frustrating at all

Just swap switch skills until monster is downed/sleep, then swap back for amped TCS. :P

There is the defender weapons and black belt armor set that should help you reach master rank quickly

They have defender weapons for low and high rank along with black belt gear as the armor equivalent to speed through the game. You can probably beat all of high rank up to hr8 in around 10 hours with join requests as well.

catch up on Rise is the same as MHW, also i believe MH Rise stories are shorter and very easy to get required HR than MHW because of Rampage mission so you can catch MR pretty quickly

You can join multi player hunt it usually take 10 minutes per monster

the advice i have to give is you really just need to get amazing at greatsword to play it well

Keep playing, it’s going to be rough at first , but you will start to learn where to sit. Also there is a repositioning wire bug skill, and make sure to tackle/counter hits to not lose your charge.

I would say go hunt a low rank monster and instead of attacking it just run circles around it. Stay as close to the monster as possible without getting hit. mix in a few dodge rolls, try both clockwise and counter clockwise. Once you've gotten comfortable try using only quick draw slashes then move on to charges. Also playing the older MonHun Games would prob help since positioning was way more crucial back then.

Maybe try Rage Slash instead of True Charge Slash to start off with, less damage but a shorter animation and you can redirect your level 3 big swing.

If you're super close to a lot of monsters some of their attacks will just go around or over you, you kinda just learn which ones you can risk through trial and error initially. Also most breath attacks and bites are massive head openings.

You can not ride the monsters by hitting them but they will recover after you did a certain amount of damage so the opening does not last a lot.
