How often should you wash them? And I'm guessing just wiping it over with warm soapy water should work? I've been thinking about getting or making one and if I make one, will need to factor this into my design since I was planning to use wood

@mockingjay478 I'm not an expert (just old...😂) but, if it helps, I can share what I do. I have a multi feeder and bird bath at home in the garden and a few "stealth water dishes" hidden in our local nature reserve so that the birds have access to clean water all year (it disappears in the summer heat and freezes in the winter). For the feeders at home, I take them apart at least once a week (twice if they're being used a lot), rinse off any debris, then wash them in a bucket of hot water with a plant based washing up liquid (so no harsh chemicals, but they're advertised as killing 99.9% of bacteria). I then rinse them off afterwards with fresh water and leave them to air dry before refilling. Haven't seen any issues there. In relation to your wooden feeder, whilst wood is porous (and so more liable to retain germs), the washing up liquid and hot water method is designed to clean things like chopping boards and utensils, so I guess it would work for you, so long as your design allows the pieces the birds feed from/poop on to come off and be thoroughly cleaned. Our "stealth water dishes" in the local nature reserve are fixed in place (to stop people vandalising/stealing them), so for those I take a clean cloth, a flask of warm water, and a bird spray from then pet shop (the type used for cleaning out domestic bird cages). I rinse them daily and clean them properly 2-3 times a week, dependent on how dirty they are. I rinse off any obvious debris, then spray, wipe everywhere down, and rinse with the warm water (the cloth comes home and goes through the wash). Some organisations suggest harsher chemicals to kill any germs, but I'm always worried that I won't rinse them off properly and so will end up doing more damage than good. The good domestic bird sprays say they kill 99.9% of germs, though, so I figure they're safer to use in case the limited water in the flask doesn't get all of it off. I know those are designed to also clean wooden toys, etc, in the domestic cages they're designed for, so that might help you if your rinsing water is more limited. ​@MiaMaples Bit of advide! The pan doesn't have different handles so the pan can go into the oven. Theoretically you'd be grabbing that handle with a oven mitten or towel. Usually it'd be for braising meat than finishing the cooking inside the oven to the correct temp. 😊

Mia, use Barkeeper’s friend to clean the back of your always pan! Use the liquid, put on a good layer of the cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes and the scrub it away. As for the inside, soak it in hot soapy water
