Homestead training center I love that place. Been there several times for our USCG qualifications and just shooting on my own and love being able to really train there.

Really glad to see a patrol rifle course with qual put on. Malfunctions suck to go through of you don’t do them often for sure. It’s helps to understand soft vs hard trigger malfunctions before doing malfunction drills. Lastly the stock on top of the shoulder as a position of retention can still be fired from just like that pistol position can be which is always a plus. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Not gonna lie the SWAT dude had a pretty legit LWRC setup.

It was good to see the weather got bad so that they would be uncomfortable and still be proficient in what they’re doing.

Wow that ball on a stick is a great idea for malfunction drill! Definitely going to add that to my training!

looks like a decent class to get their feet wet, hopefully they will take the initiative and work on developing their skills on their own time. dry fire and mag changes and most malfunction drills can be preformed without ammo and a range.

Being an ex 95B, the Army guy talking about being trained using low ready I had the same eye opener. I was taught (high ready) by an ex Israeli soldier and I fell in love with it. SEALS apparently use this method not sure about SF.

Gun store employee here. Couple of things I see wrong here. While this is a basic rifle class, there are way too mistakes being made. The amount of trigger slap and the lack of basic fundamentals of marksmanship is staggering. While it’s cool that they had moving targets and were training to a high standard, a lot of these officers need to train on their own time. There is no reason that a malfunction clearing drill should take that long. Also why are they dropping their rifle to the crook of their elbow to reload? Waste of movement and time. In a situation where every second counts, you want efficiency of movement. Also, for such a big department, your telling me they couldn’t afford an Aimpoint Pro and had to settle for a Holosun? Really? They have Leo/Mil discounts at ridiculously low rates.

HELLO!!!!! I followed Miami PD’s VLOG fro years. I also collect patches and challenge coins from law enforcement and security all over the world. I was wondering if I could get a MPD patch or challenge coin (or both) to add to my collection. I already have FHP, Broward CO, and Pasco CO......I am missing Miami PD.

I am EXTREMELY Surprised that Police Officers in a Major Department would not have a WORKING Familiarity with a WEAPON like an AR15 Even at a Patrol Rifle Qualification Course and there transition to sidearms of many of those officers NEED ALLOT of WORK. Seeing some of the Officers Monkey their way thru a Malfunction is Surprising when the AR15 is a Standard Weapon in Law Enforcement now days and Part of Most Police Academies like the 12ga Pump Action and Semi Auto Shotgun! Many of those Officers are firing their Weapons like Green Recruits that have NEVER SEEN a Rifle or a Pistol I am glad I do not live in their jurisdiction because I would be Worried if I had to DEPEND on these guys to PROTECT me and my family but I am glad of the Second Amendment and Castle Doctrine! I do not come from a LEO background but a Military one and I have trained hundreds of people in the use of the M9 Pistol, M500/M590 Shotgun, M4/M16A2, MP5 and M14 for my Command and during a Tour of Duty in Security where I received Specialized Training Similar to that of SWAT training.

What’s with all the different AR platforms ? Why not issue one rifle and make them all the same ? So you can make a training and education which applies for all rifles. All the self bought stuff and different rifles make it look unprofessional.
