Julia & Henry's is the newest food hall to come to Downtown Miami. Housed in the historic Walgreen's Building on Flagler Street, it is named for Julia Tuttle & Henry Flagler: historic figures in Miami's history. It features three floors of dining and entertainment options.

I remember that building was a Walgreens back in the day. The building is very very old. I love that they are keeping its art deco style and not demolishing it for an ugly condo. Maybe Miami will finally value its rich History.

I was there that day and have a number of appearences. We won't go back anytime soon. The kitchen heat and human heat and Miami heat overwhelmed the AC and navigating so many people was not pleasurable. We paid way too much for the baklava given the small portion. The chicken sandwich was worth it. If you go, try off peak hours and rainy summer days so it's a more comfortable experience. Cheers!

@@bodyloverz30 It's like a newer, smaller or multi-level version of much older food halls in various cities throughout the US & world. I know there's one in Seattle, Philly, LA, new & old ones in Boston, the converted Ferry bldg in SF, many of the cities in Europe, Buenos Aires, etc. The concept goes back generations & is a larger, more serious version of a typical food court in a shopping mall.

@user... I said the same thing about New York City when I visited in 2016. So many restaurants right next door and across from each other. It seem like a lot, but different food spots, Chinese, Italian, pizza, etc.; how do they compete and stay in business? I was thinking, that's New York City! Lots of people, many food places. 😊

ask the price and portion of the baklava - oddly, I paid for a smaller piece than the sample they were giving away - maybe due to crowd they were rationing, it was good, but wouldn't order again

Honestly, I'm VERY VERY impressed! The art-deco style, glass, vibe, and different vendors for all different types of tastes. This was a brilliant addition to the city, and personally, I think the street should remain permanently closed off to street traffic. Keep it pedestratian. Julia and Henry's is an obvious hit and will remain a stable of the city for decades to come. The only drawback is they should have widened the upstairs levels for one more row of foot traffic so you're not stuck waiting for traffic to clear. I'm excited about visiting this one location alone.

Mi am uh. There was a Foodcourt years ago right on Flagler. Cuban Gent in a White suit played a White Grand Piano. Had my first CAFE COLADA there. Coffee drinking was never the same. Or GUARPO, the Sugar Cane juice. Circa 90-92. New Miami, worth visiting.

AK, been a minute for me on the channel. 😊 Wow, that place is pumping! Seems people are polite, patient. One would need to be careful while walking thru those spaces since people are walking thru those crowed corridors with drinks in hand etc. So good to see business doing good business! 😊👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

We need this in Texas! Too bad I don’t have tons of money or I will try to get one built and have vendors sign leases. I would mix all different ethnic foods together so people don’t have to go to a certain floor for a specific type of food.

@@bigfellachocolatebar6987 I haven’t been downtown since 2013 working there and eating in the tunnels and at Park Shop on McKinney. It’s mostly American/Tex Mex and some Chinese. Unless they have changed now. Also they had stores there with food court. I prefer what is in the vid where all different types of cuisine right next to each other and upper floors.

looks great but the prices look very high for a food court, typical of Miami. we need more affordable food places to hang out in. i just check out the International Food market in Queens that they hold on weekends. all plates are in the $5 range and restaurant quality.

Compared to similar food courts in Asia, this seems really narrow for customers to sit and enjoy their food. It’s a cool building but on rush hours it must take a lot of time to get seated..

I hear the lines are long, there are never available seats or tables to eat, parking nearby is hard to come by and the area is still under heavy renovations
