The entire drive from Miami to Key West in July 2022. The entire journey took just under 4 hours. I start off in Downtown Miami and end in the Old Town of Key West. This drive takes you through the entirety of the Florida Keys on the Overseas Highway. Along the way, I cross over 44 Islands and 42 Bridges. The islands border the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The most famous attraction on the Overseas Highway is the Seven Mile Bridge, which was considered one of the longest bridges when it was built.

I love this! I’ve always wanted to go down the keys to key west but I love in California so it’s not a quick trip! My husband did it once with his parents when they had a place in Miami Beach but he said it’s a long and boring drive LOL. What would be interesting is if you put captions for the various keys you drove through. But I will go back over this and stop the video to look. At the signs!

Route 1 is only a mile from my house so even though I live all the way in Connecticut in order to get to Key West I could just get on route 1 south and simply never get off until it ends. I think it’s the longest north south highway in the US right?

Going to New York city in December. The plan is touristy things. Statue of liberty and to see the tree. Any suggestions on places to stay while I'm there? Things I should avoid?

When you do Statue of Liberty I definitely recommend seeing Ellis Island too. It's fascinating and one of the few bargains in NYC! Before moving to the city, I stayed in a few different hostels. My favorite was called Jazz on Columbus Circle. It's nice and in a great location.

Did this drive Fort Lauderdale to key west in 2007. It takes a long time. 3 hours became 6 hours. Lucky if you can go 50 mph on average. Lots of residential and protected areas and cops catching speeders. Bottom line, don’t go if you have to be in a rush. Budget your time to 6 hours.

This. I’m from Miami but I had never visited the Keys until recently, and the first thing I noticed when driving there was the strong police presence. There’s cops everywhere along Overseas Hwy just waiting for the first person to go like 1 mile above the speed limit, which sort of had me on edge the entire time I was driving there lol.

If only it took just 20 minutes to get to Key West. Probably everyone in Miami would be going. I wonder if it would cut your travel time down if you drove at night since you wouldn't have to deal with all the traffic. That was quick!
