True lot of work to do remove grease and rust off and paint. It look like new it will be last longer to clean than if dirty will be short life good work from Michael

With a car restoration you can go as deep as you want, but remember you can always go deeper. I can see you are getting sucked in, and you might need to set your expectations to how far you want to take things. If you want it show room perfect, then sure any bit of grease or dirt needs to come off, but if you want it respectable and drivable, then you don't need to worry about going that deep.

There are ways to make drum brakes work better and be more reliable. But its alot of work that itself alone is far more easier said than done. Good luck bud.

I learned several powerful fans surrounding you while you work helps keep them mosquitos away. They are so light and no match for the winds caused by the fans. Just an idea for in the future.

it needs lots of sanding, but the rust is not terrible. Most of the rust is still surface rust, and still sandable. The right quarter angel is missing the bottom and needs replaced. There is no interior, so I will have to figure that out. The engine and transmission did not come installed, but freshly rebuilt. But overall it is in good shape, and plan on starting on it as soon as I finish with getting the 68 type 3 fastback front end completed.

the front floor pans you can make them out of the large Maytag washing machine sides they are just big enough and they have real good white paint on them!

Nice.... Im in the middle of restoring a 71' Karmann Ghia, it runs and very road worthy... Just gotta put an interior in it, it does have one seat though, lol! Its yellow but it has wore down to the primer in a bunch spots... It also needs side chrome, it does have the original front/back bumpers.. Im so glad! The floor has been pat hed here and there and os pretty solid.... Its just an old fixer upper... Its gonna cost more money than work, its a working progress✌

you should really get some impact drivers and nice small drills, will really lessen the amount of time it takes you to remove all those bolts. Makita has a great 2 pack in their LXT series of a small brushless drill and brushless impact driver that i use myself to work on my cars, it works great.

@01:32 Is that Volkswagen Anarok behind the vendor's table? How is it possible since Anarok isn't officially imported to the United States and isn't modified to meet US FMVSS? Does it have Mexican numberplates, which would explain its presence in Texas?

I learned from my dad when I started working on scooter motors ... and youtube tutorials are good to learn from too! :) Cafe Racer cool!! That should be a fun project!!

Mic! You're enthusiasm is SO infectious. I used to have a '63 bus. LOVED that ride! Lots of fun in it. ;) Also had an old bug and a Squareback I used to go abalone diving in up in Northern CA in the 80s and 90s. I have a friend who restored a VW truck and did a KZfaq vid or two on, you can see it here; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aZ5oYLSVzcfNYoE.html He made a 'rotisserie' to work on it, he's a very creative engineer, and it made his work a lot easier. Check his KZfaq page. I wonder if he knows about Klassic Fab...??? He must! I'll send him a link to this video. We'll be in Hawaii (big island) for eleven days in April, so I'll keep an eye out for you to say hello (you're in Kona? or is that just one of the places you go?) Taking my Mavic 2 and a bunch of GoPro, Oslo Pocket, etc gear to take videos. Any insights you'd like to share on places to get great footage from the drone while there without encountering friction from the local authorities? Be much appreciated! Thanks again for all you hard work on being a great KZfaq asset, I really love your videos. They always make me happy.
