Well, I believe that buckethead now is more understood by the audience than back in the days, I glad that this is how it is nowadays, because is a one of a kind artist: very talented, his technique is flawless, the color of his sound is unique, and regardles of being a shred guitar player he knows how to put his heart on his music and not only a bunch of notes played very fast; congratulations y saludos desde México.

Everyone has respect for Bucket. He's spent the better part of 3 decades doing what he wants and doing it his way. He never had any #1 hits or albums commercially speaking but the freedom he has created for himself is something a lot of other artist wished they had. That has to be admired, loved and respected. He was 100% independent way before it was the cool thing to do.

sometimes all we need to do is accept who we really are, instead of trying to conform to what society says we should become... look at this other guy who also shares a birthday with Buckethead in May, he goes by the name Asmongold, pretty much a "urban hermit" (not implying it's bad, quite the opposite...) that stayed at home all day playing his videogames and became a millionaire by doing it
@FeelingShred
@FeelingShred 10 ай бұрын
continuing the story, what makes Asmongold pretty peculiar is his spiteful nature, freedom and liberty at all costs, to the point he rejected being under a contract and he pretty much does 9-hour livestreams FOR FREE now on the website that made him financially independent, just because he disagrees with the recent website changes and policies, and by doing that he causes his thousands of viewers to COST BANDWIDTH for the company to keep his channel alive and working... talk about Revenge...
@FeelingShred
@FeelingShred 10 ай бұрын
you don't need to agree with every single of the guy's opinions, but you gotta admire his sense of integrity at all costs... Unbreakable sense of Integrity, that's what I've been noticing with people that born in May (Taurus) And yes astrology is dumb, go ahead mock me, I don't care 🤣🤣🤣I can make fun of it too

And then Buckethead says only one person blew him away and is light years ahead of him. Shawn Lane. The GOAT
@nathaninostroza7655
@nathaninostroza7655 27 күн бұрын
Shawn Lane s the definition of taking the shredder world Yngwie spawned not only to further levels alla Cacophony and countless other great guitarists who developed insane chops and ways of expressing themselves thru this vicious and visceral highly skilled art that mostly guitar nuts admire and worship the shit out off it. Shawn took it galaxies beyond further, and i can't find a single player who has that kind off ability and the intellect to grasp such chops, it wasnt only fast shit and thensome, it wasnt the obvious scales plus many classical inspired arpeggios alla Uli Jon Roth. It wasnt just utter talent and overwhelming knowledge alla Frank Gambale, Danny Gatton, and some off the lot of freaks of nature. Shawn was really too far gone in a splendid and blinding light manner. Yet still, his powers of ten band managed to make really soulful technical music, they did the impossible. Shawn was that talented and off the charts. Though i'm more of a Ritchie Blackmore and Jake E Lee passionate bloke about it, Shawn s work was and still is that singular and superb-lative. Period. Remember him mimmicking a sitar alike kinda piece with his guitar, so accurate, he was that aware of details and such voracious music adept all the way. Buckethead s just a really honest and authentic performer through and through.

@@CrueLoaf Absolutely - and as others have mentioned, it's a pretty common chord progression that he (or really, any rock guitarist) returns to pretty regularly. But years ago when I received Pike 45 I definitely had the same reaction as MAB - like, it's an extended outtro for All Along the Watchtower, and he just keeps taking it to different levels. It's really one of the best displays of his more 'traditional' lead work... the whole time you're like, "how are you keeping this up and keeping this interesting for this long?!"

sounds a bit too noncommittal for my tastes. BH is just not really on par with greats, is all. He is a GOOD guitarist and average songwriter. He'd almost certainly never be known without 2 simple things. 1) A KFC bucket on his head at all times and 2) constant recording and touring. His Paul Gilbert chops only go so far and that killswitch (another gimmick) doesn't really add much to the show. MAB was just trying to be nice. Notice he didn't mention ANYTHING positive about BH's actual playing. BH makes up some chord progression and riffs over it and "develops" it. Not sure if he meant develops the underlying riff over time or just the solo over it. Anyway... overrated. That's my opinion. BH can't touch MAB for alt picking badassery or arpeggios. But apparently lots of people love BH. I'm just not one of them. I don't get it and I play guitar for almost 50 years and professionally and to some degree of proficiency and I just don't dig his style or songs. They don't move me, I guess.
