Micheal Bivins was around industry music vets like Russell Simmons, Louis Silas Jr, and Jerryl Busby...he was making moves as a businessman...CEO, Manager, Executive Producer and A&R Director....with Biv 10 and that Motown distribution deal in 1990 when Diddy was still dancing in Stacy Lattisaw and Fine Young Cannibals videos....Jermaine Dupri would not find Kriss Kross until a year later...it started with Boyz II Men and evolved into the East Coast Family!

Just want to say NE 4 Life always! I love hearing Mike's own perception of his experience in the group and the inner dynamics of their relationships with one another. It would be nice if we could hear each one of them in a solo interview in this matter. I would also love to see a New Edition #Versus in which they would just battle themselves being that they all have so much material to work with as a group and as the solo acts they splintered off into. Lastly, who knew Mike's voice was so damn calming to listen to? Him, Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones should be reading children's audiobooks to help put these kids too sleep for bedtime at night lol. Love you Mike! Can't wait to see the guys on their next tour after the world opens back up 👍

Wow I remember back in 1983 I heard this song on the radio call candy girl. I instantly loved the song but never knew who was singing it. I knew the lead voice sounded like Michael Jackson but I knew it wasn't the jacksons 5. So i went to a concert in DC to see the go go godfather chuck brown. I was 13 teen yrs old, before chuck came on this group by the name of New Edition was announced these 5 fly ass young boys that was my age came on stage looking sharp as hell. They had on black satin pants, red satin shirts, and red shoes the did 3 songs 1st popcorn love, 2nd is this the end and 3rd and last song candy girl. I said to myself that's the song I been hearing on the radio. I was hook on this group right then and their but it was something special about the Carmel color short guy that caught my attention. I couldn't keep my eyes off him. The next day I happen to go too the store and I walk pass the magazine section and notice the 5 guys name new edition on the cover. I had to get that magazine, the magazine was called Right On, I asked my mom for something because I had to have that magazine. I brought the magazine took it home and again the little short guy I couldn't take my eyes off him. He had on Jordash Jean's, blue Izon shirt and a blue nike hat turned to the back. I thought he was the coolest nigga I laid my eyes on. Michael Bivins became my favorite NE member right at that moment. I know most of the girls loved ralph and later Ronnie became the next heart throb but Mike was always my favorite. So from 1983 until 2020 I have always been a fan of the BIV. I think he was the dopest back then and he still is the dopest. I got a chance to meet him twice in my home town Washington DC each time he showed me love he was very nice. He even touch my cheek. I damn near passed out when he did that. But Mike Bivins is a class act. This was a fantastic interview and I cant wait until his documentary comes out.

But what I have the most respect for is the love they always showed for each other, even when their fame was at its peak. Truly, a remarkable group of talent. Respect.
