Cole went from being mid to being one of the best commentators in the business. His dynamic with Graves, Barrett, and McAfee especially have been a delight to listen to.

He was ‘mid’ because he had an angry boss yelling in his ear for 20+ years. You’d be pretty mediocre to if that’s all you ever experienced and never got to really get into the story or the wrestling. Vince being gone has allowed Cole to blossom and we’re all here for it.

Cole used to have a very restrained role thanks to Vinny Mac. Now without him around much, Cole got the freedom to be himself more.

Cole saying "It's over" so many times makes you think he's right even when deep down you know there'll be a kickout so it makes kickouts even more iconic. Also his "Jimmy, what the hell did you do?" was so accusatory and potrayed that betrayal PERFECTLY at Summerslam.

Right Cole was the guy who explained the business side of things as well as the storylines and storytelling and Taz explained the match,strategy and how the moves and manuvers affect the Wrestler. They also seemed like they were enjoying each other's company

Before commentating and working for wwe in general, Cole was a journalist reporting on presidential campaigns the Waco siege standoff and even the Yugoslav wars of the mid 90s. He had been places even before wwe.

Yes, Michael Coulthard (his real name) has a decent history before his WWE days. Worked three presidential elections (1988 and 1992 following the democrats, 1996 following the republicans), the Oklahoma City Bombing, and, as you said, the Waco Siege and Yugoslav Civil War

Michael Cole and Tazz were the best Commentary team on Smackdown they were awesome and epic. you know something though Michael Cole and Tazz have called some many matches together on Smackdown that it's hard to believe these two guys were only broadcast partners for five years from 2001 to Friday June 27 2006 it seems like they were together a lot longer then that. Michael Cole and Tazz are the best Commentary team for Smackdown and JR Jim Ross and Jerry the King Lawyer are the best Commentary team for Raw.👌

Michael Cole may have had his moments where I wasn’t a fan of him… Especially that specific time with The Miz But ever since the Pandemic and some actual good storylines He really feels like a fan showing so much emotion and it’s amazing to see. I hope Cole gets more good Quality WWE and elevates it before he retires

Michael Cole will definitely go down as one of the most underappreciated announcers of all time. I know he isn't everyone's favorite but definitely have to give the man his props it wasn't an easy road for him but he has over time become one of the best announcers in the business and I'm glad that he's starting to get his flowers especially in the last year or so.

I think Michael Cole is an all-time great heel. Generated so much heat and that’s the primary objective! He got over the baby faces and made us hate those heels on commentary. Very underrated, even still!

My favorite Cole moment was from a match between Daniel Bryan and The Fiend. When after being put down The Fiend gets back to his feet and Cole says "He got up, the damn thing just got up".
