i went into the theatre a mcavoy fan, and walked out a mcavoy and fassbender girl. he totally stole the show...there's this magnetism about him on-screen that's incredible to watch.

Precisely ! And , being of Polish descent myself I love the fact The Films made Erik Polish as it opens peoples` eyes to what The Poles went through hopefully ! Also , I`m pretty sure The X-Men Films Version of Magneto which influenced Animated Portrayals beginning with Evolution is the only Polish Character in the entire MARVEL Universe , I know the MARVEL Universe well and there are many Germans but only one Pole !

In addition , Erik Lehnsherr was only an Alias Magneto used as part of a Cover Identity as a Sinte Gypsy in The Classic 616 Comics whereas in The Ultimate Comics and Films it`s his Real Name . In The 616 Comics , his Real Name is Max Eisenhardt which was revealed long after The Films started .

I prefer The Film Backstory because : 1 . I`m of Polish ( as well as French , Scots-Irish , Austrian , Ukrainian , Dutch and Danish ) descent 2 . People rarely acknowledge the shit The Poles have had to endure historically before , during and after The Holocaust ! 3 . MARVEL has many German Characters , no Polish Characters to my knowledge save for the Film Version of Magneto !
